Every reader has favorite genres, topics, etc. I have a very narrow scope of story topics of which I'll even open the first chapter. Even most of the ones I open have what I would consider problems for me to continue reading them. I understand being disappointed by a story because it didn't go where a reader wanted it to go or presented scenes or info the reader doesn't care for. That happens to me all the time.
If a reader doesn't like something after a paragraph or a chapter, that person should move on. Surely the reader doesn't have so much free time that the reader has nothing better to do than flaming a writer that doesn't write the sort of stuff the reader wants to read. If someone does, I might be willing to trade. I could use a lot more free time (having just ended an 11.75-hour work day).
