Cherry-Chocolate Chip Cookies
Yields about 4 dozen
1 1/4 c flour
1/4 ts salt
1/2 ts baking soda
1 st butter
1/4 c dark brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 c granulated sugar
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 ea egg
4 oz jar maraschino cherries
1/4 c chopped walnuts
Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda.
In another bowl, cream butter with white and brown sugars, then beat in eggs. Drain and chop cherries. Add cherries, nuts, chocolate pieces, and other dry ingredients into butter-sugar mixture.
Drop rounded tsp of batter on ungreased cookie sheets about 1 inch apart.
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Yields about 4 dozen
They keep well when frozen in a container. Taste very good frozen too.
