So, I'm out of the hellish Chicago area cold and snow. It was 3 degrees F when I left yesterday. We're in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I thought some of you might be interested in an update.
There is some return to normal - in the city. I can't speak for anywhere else, though we could see the devastation to the countryside as we flew over to land. Power is off for streetlights and traffic lights, but the houses around our hotel seem to have power. Still lots of broken windows, smashed fences, and the like. Lots of closed businesses - buildings totally wrecked. Haven't been towards the beaches yet.
If you are so inclined, I'm sure any help you give through Red Cross or other agencies will be welcome and NEEDED.
The next to last chapter of Monica is in the queue for tomorrow. There is yet another betrayal, some baby making, and travel.
