My current story, Legal! , has half of it advertised as having chapters posted every Friday evening. This coming Friday is Christmas.
So the chapter will be posted on Saturday morning instead.
Happy Boxing Day to those across The Pond, and Happy Feast of Stephen for fans of Good King Wenceslas.
I've labeled Legal!, the currently posting story in the God joins together Universe, "much sex," and I've read complaints on the site about much-sex stories.
Well, Andy and Marilyn get married in the first chapters, and they do have much sex. They do other things, too. They even study enough to both make Dean's List.
The Ku Klux Klan was not originally founded as a terrorist organization. It was intended to be a secret society to make fun of secret societies, and not the first. I regard the organizational history as too contingent to be likely to travel across into our alternative history.
On the other hand, night riders were so universally a part of the post-war South that I can't imagine that a slightly more forceful defeat would have kept them from arising. Even before the Civil War there were political gangs who robbed the Post Offices of mailed abolitionist literature.
The KKK were not the only white terrorists during Reconstruction, and I chose the Knights of the White Camelia, a large group, to be the most prominent group in the alternative history.
Chapter 9 of Purcell has a big sign at the end of the chapter saying, "The End."
It's not.
What happened was that an Alert Reader caught an error in Chapter 8 which required correction in all later chapters, as well. I uploaded the correction to Chapter 8, but when I thought I was uploading the corrections to chapters 9 - 18, I, instead, uploaded an (obsolete) letter to Lazeez.
Without the attachment which the letter referenced and in a location no letter should be, the message confused Lazeez. His reply confused me, until I figured out what I had done.
He finally repaired the confusion, but it ended with the sign at the end of chapter 9.
I'm going to go back to Lazeez to fix e p. again.
Purcell, my currently-running story, has been finished and is in the posting queue for regular Monday morning and Thursday evening posting. If I get hit by a truck tomorrow, it will still roll off.
OTOH, the last chapter, 18, will appear September 24. When it does, this will become my longest story, more than 3/4 meg.
Since most of my recent postings have been reposting of earlier work that previously appeared on ASM and ASSTR,, I'll mention that this story is completely new.
