Buy me a coffee

So, I have joined the digital age and set up a buy me a coffee page (in profile). My love of caffeine battled and overcame my Luddite tendencies. No pressure. No caffeine means sleep, so...either I write or I dream of writing. Either way, I win!!!

New Series - Trying new stuff

Posted at

I have uploaded for posting a new series - about Catholic Schoolgirls - yeah, not many sex stories about that group of people :). I originally thought to have lots of raunchy sex stuff as the girls learn about 'the sex'. However, as I am currently a pantsy writer (write by the seat of the pants - or shorts because it's warm here), the characters took over the stories. I found it lots of fun to explore different writing types - so the series will have crazy stupid sex stuff, emotionally hard things, and even one story with no sex (only kissing - the most emotionally satisfying).
I hope people enjoy the series as much as I enjoyed writing it and people enjoy discovering the hidden world of people.
Currently 5 stories, more published every second Friday, 17 in total.

Of note: I will likely have improperly used terms and/or common experiences - I did not go to catholic school and am not a teenage girl. If I have made a gross error that causes you to fall out of the story, please send a note. I did lots of research, and while I know that the internet is 99% accurate, that 1% may creep in :)

Thank you for reading this.

Further, for the admins and the community, thank you for being awesome. Deciding to write was very daunting, but the support from the site and the community has helped me confront the fears I didn't realize I had :)

Cheers,

Thank you for your patience

Thank you all for your patience.
The last couple of months have been awesome (family stuff) but also less awesome (health stuff).
I have a lot of chapters written, however, editing takes a long time. I often wish that I could write, do one edit, and then post. Rather my process (at the moment) is to write the first draft, wait a week (so it seems fresher), then first pass edit for understanding (ie: does this make sense - did I write what I wanted vs what I thought I wrote), second pass edit for connection, story flow, characteristics, etc., third pass edit for spelling, fourth pass edit for grammar (wish I could do 3 and 4 together, but being dyslexic means lots of spelling errors), fifth pass edit for readability.
I try to wait at least a week between edits.
As you can imagine, lots of time on each story/chapter.
Fingers crossed, I will have more time to edit :)

Story Styles

First, thank you for reading. I enjoy other people's blogs. It feels like they are giving me a small glimpse behind the scenes, so I will try to give you a bit of a peek also.

Growing Up is becoming much larger than anticipated but I find I am enjoying writing and learning about Margot growing up.

The Adventures in Lifeguarding series are just fun little stories about the various personalities at the small community pool. Started writing only about Mark but now also with Sarah and Brian. Note: there is a sequel to Girl Gangs focusing on the three younger girls but it went to a very dark place and I am having trouble finishing the story.

The School series stories were the first that I ever wrote. Each one is supposed to be very different (again, maybe not as different as I would have liked, I am still learning as a writer). They all take place in the same location with the same characters but from very different perspectives.

Finally, there are the odds and end stories that allow me to explore different styles of writing.

Thank you,
