A new short story. Having overcome my inertia for a few days, here is a little offering - I hope you enjoy it.
I always try to respond to feedback, if only with a 'thank you'. Of course, if it's 'anon' there's not much I can do. But sometimes my responses are bounced back as undeliverable, presumably due to the address being no longer valid. Chris, thanks for your feedback, and please update your address!

Five years ago I wrote a fairly popular story entitled 'The Photo', inspired by a delightful picture of a very attractive young woman. The picture was then accessible via an arty website and I included the URL at the beginning of the tale.
If you are going to ask a question, then have the courtesy to include your address so it can be answered.
A reader recently emailed me to say that the link to the photo mentioned in the story no longer worked, which I suppose is hardly surprising after five years! So I have submitted the first chapter with a revised heading for reposting. I have to say I still think it's a remarkably beautiful picture...
An observant reader has pointed out that Rick Bennett's 'Traanquillity' started out with a wheel and ended with a tiller. I have made appropriate corrections to my files and will be reposting the early chapters at least. PLEASE, if any similar errors, or typos, have escaped me or my editorial team, please email me?
