First, thanks for everyone who reached out and alerted me to what happened!
I feel like an idiot.
I quickly clicked and uploaded 24 - Dick Picture Perfect.txt instead of 24 - Hot Tub Love Machine.txt
I have, before I started writing this post, set the proper file to replace my fuck up.
I apologize and thank everyone for their support and notice.
After putting together the whole story of Blizzard (All out and free to read now. If you haven't, go check it out! Definitely the best thing I ever did). My editor and I compiled all of the world-building, unreliable narrator moments, rules for the Sidhe and backstories for Gene, Alex, Sam, and Max. If you enjoyed the story, would like to see more. Check out my Patreon: www.patreon.com/nealjohnstone. I'm sure you'll enjoy the deep dive into Blizzard and you'll get access to earlier stories and unreleased stories just by signing up.
If you've been reading Blizzard from the beginning, first: thank you!
Second: you might want to read it again! I've been working with an editor, and we've improved it considerably: not just fixing the missing/wrong/extra words, and the punctuation errors, but actual changes (above and beyond making Sam a brunette). We've smoothed out mischaracterizations ("Gene would NEVER do that! ... unless we present it like THIS!"), knitted together plot holes ("given what's revealed in this chapter, these events 6 chapters earlier don't make sense"), fixed minor inconsistencies in backstory, ("so, wait, did Wayne already know who Sam was, or not?") rewritten dialogue (" ... you don't know what this line means EITHER?"), and completely replaced a whole bunch of scenes. And there's more Easter eggs.
Third: The backbone of the story, the theme and the conflict, remain very much intact. What you loved about Blizzard, what made it work, is still there and standing strong, augmented by every change for the better we could make!
Thank you all for your support! I welcome all comments, criticisms, and first-born sons.
Every Woman Has a Price is going to have a large cast. There needs to be at least 25 characters: Owen, 12 bodies purchased, and 12 enemies accidentally scooped up. In addition there's Grandpa, Kirk, and Maxim. With a cast this size and the delay between postings I usually include a cast list. I haven't, yet.
Should I post the whole list now or update as characters are named and appear? If you read the story what do you think? Include the cast list or let the readers remember? Have the whole thing available from the start (it'll be the first chapter-link either way) or add names to it as they occur. Once the story is finished there'll be a brick of potential spoilers right at the start anyways.
If you include cast lists in your stories, I'm interested to know how you approach it as well.
Anyway, go read https://storiesonline.net/s/20106/every-woman-has-a-price it's going to be one of my best.
Saw that I must've clicked the story is finished checkbox. Shit, my bad. Anyone who thought that was the ending, I apologize. I've made a couple of small sentence changes to make it a clearer read and reposted it.
I hope to make this one more sex heavy and silly than my other series. Check it out if you haven't. Always appreciate comments and criticisms.
