Sent a chapter off to the editor today. Should post in a couple of days.

I think I'm gonna have fun with it.

One of my readers - that's you folks - sent me a very long and well thought out email about how I should NOT have let Kimberly end. Put her on hold, maybe, but not end. Another of you did the same thing with Neighbors, saying that they want to know how things worked out with Haley and Bill.

You're killing me. **I** want to know, too.

A recurring theme in your comments is that I make characters that are likeable and alive, that one can relate to. That makes me feel good. I want to care about them. So do you.

So what's a writer to do? I'm open for suggestions.

Real job work load. I've been busy. Yeah, it's mostly mental, but after a day of counting beans and doing paperwork, things I hate, when I finally sit down, the muse keeps herself hidden.

My aging back has gone on strike. I have stenosis pinching a nerve to my leg, and the only things that help are opiates (Drugs're GOOD, Mmm-kay?) and a weird position that pulls the spine into a position taht relieves pressure on that nerve. Neither of those is something that my little muse wants to deal with.

That said, writing may be a bit spotty, but believe me, I have stories to tell, so the writing WILL happen.

Incidentally, the version of Chapter 57 of Community posted today is raw and unedited. I will replace it with the edited version as soon as I get it back. I figured you folks'd want to see something sooner rather than later.

Project season at work. I'm kicking off several projects approved in our 2015 budget, so there's a bunch of occupied neurons out of the writing mode.

Heathwise, I had the left knee 'scoped last fall. No the RIGHT knee is acting up. And the hip. And there's this recurring muscle spasm in the lower back. Geeze, if I knew it had to last this long, I'd've taken better care of it.

So writing has been rather slow. I'm sorry. I'm sure the muse will kick her way back into my head soon enough. I have stories to tell, you know...

Me, I'm confused. I get a million comments about 'break the mold - your guys are too nice' and so I do the first chapter of the new story with a 'cheating' tag and now the OTHER side comes out.

It's a tag. (That's a teaser)

The guy's horny. The girl's horny. Tab A and Slot B, tinted by 'eatin' ain't cheatin'.

And nobody's actually worked on anybody else's sticky bits.

So, there remains the question: Can Oyster write a story about a woman who cheats? (Don't forget Brenda in the archives) Or does he cave in to his own sense of decency?

Inquiring minds might want to pay attention.

January is not a good time in Real Life (TM). At work we cut loose all the 2015 projects, so it's up to my eyeballs in paperwork.

Back's acting up. Doctor's opinion is that it's mostly related to geography - my back's too far from my front.

In spite of external influences, I managed to eke out the opening chapter of a new story. It's at the editor's now. I won't give much away here. Suffice to say that I'm trying to do a 'less nice' guy for a protagonist. Let's see how long I can keep it up.
