Thanks to Pertinax's proofing chapter 30 is going in the queue momentarily. I didn't know if I would get it posted today. We were without power most of the night thanks to storms and while I could fiddle through things on my phone I seem to create more errors than anything else when I try to. I blame having large clumsy hands. Once we had light I went outside to survey the damage and it's not bad and when I walked back in power was on so yay! Thus, editing and posting is happening.

I had wanted to write a Halloween-themed story as a writing exercise but despite having some vague ideas nothing has coalesced into anything meaningful so that probably won't happen still, the vague idea become a stand alone story at some point. I have too many other projects, Pool girl and some non-romance non-erotica I need to stay focused on.

I have to say it is painful to re-read something I was really proud of that I worked on years ago and realize now how little of it is worth keeping.

I had hoped to have chapter 29 to a proofing stage by this time but instead, I'm only almost done with the first draft but I'm pretty happy with where it's going. The cheer coach has fired a warning shot intending to intimidate Melissa and Lavi but will discover that not everyone on the team is easy to intimidate. Meanwhile, a recurring character has a surprise to put at our triad's feet.

As a way of keeping myself on track I'm publically declaring that tomorrow I will get up and work through a final draft of chapter 28 for my proofing.

It's been a frustrating week. I've felt a lot of creative energy but allergies have sapped actual energy from me. I got a rough draft of a non-erotica short story done that popped in my head as a "what if" kind of thing when talking to someone. I need to get better with my non-erotica projects at finishing one before I start new ones, something I swore a month or so back I would do but then two ideas for very short pieces popped in my head and refuse to leave until I do something with them. /sigh

So, I went a couple of weeks between chapters, in part because my creative energy was low but also because I found myself working on chapter 27 and the first side story, which I've also just put in the queue for publishing. So, two Pool Girl pieces in one day.

While chapter 27 has a healthy amount of sex there is none in the side story entitled Under the Pear Tree. It is a reference that regular readers will get from Robert and Melissa's discussions about her summer reading list. I began thinking of Melissa and Lavi outside Robert's perspective, what was their conversation like when Melissa began confronting her feelings for Lavi? The answer took me back to chapter one well before Lavi was added to the story and the result is here. For those of you who like me are both perverts and hopeless romantics this story will appeal purely to the romantic as there is nothing salacious but it warmed my heart to see Laiv and Melissa together as friends before they were lovers.
