I leapt into publishing my story with a great deal of enthusiasm, some angst and considerable naivety. Fortunately, there are many kind and helpful people here on SOL who suggested I not proceed as I had planned.

Rather, they pointed me at Patreon - a site where I could post my story in draft form and receive feedback in more controlled circumstances. Once the story was finalised, I could then post the story back to SOL on a regular schedule.

So, having listened to people (readers and authors), that is what I am doing. I have posted the first two chapters that are available here to my patreon site as public posts. From chapter three onwards, I will post these chapters as tier1 (friend) posts.

Well, I've had quite a bit of feedback on the story (and the first blog post) all of is very helpful and thought provoking.

One of the suggestions was to not post a story until its completely written. This is advice I've had from other authors whose opinion I value (because of their writing and experience). I decided not to do that for a couple of reasons.

First of all, I really wanted to get some feedback. If people hated what I was writing I wanted to know - and try to understand why they felt that way before I wrote 100,000 words (I'm already close to 50,000).

The second reason was because posting in chapters implied a commitment to readers - and that would help me with my motivation to keep writing, even when real life intervenes.

So two chapters are up and I'll be trying to post a chapter every fortnight. Which brings me to chapter 3. Whilst working on chapter 7 I realised I needed to make a couple of changes to chapter 3.

I'm not quite sure yet how things work as an author here, so I don't know if I can repost a chapter - and I am very unsure about the ethics of doing that anyway.

I'm glad I realised the problem, but I am now really wary and will spend a bit more time over the next two weeks checking from my plotline back into chapters 3-7 (particularly chapter 3)!

Through my eyes.Again is my first post of my writing. I have previously started a number of stories, but they floundered during their voyages! I am quite hopeful that this is not going to happen to this story. I have six chapters completed and a seventh well underway (with later chapters in various stages of completion from quite a lot to just plot themes). I am hoping to post a chapter every fortnight or so (on average).

I'd like to thank all of you who have read and voted on this story so far, with particular thanks to those kind souls who have written to me offering encouraging words.
