Scheduling

I've decided to slow down the rate of submissions. For one, I'm spending a lot of time revising, but the primary reason is that I don't want to monopolize the daily posting on SOL.
Today, Wizard's Apprentice; tomorrow, Jacob Jennings; and that schedule will continue until both books are complete on SOL. After that, I'll be submitting chapters of a new book, not sure which one yet.
To all who wrote to me about revising Wizard's Apprentice, thank you! Most were for keeping the language as is, but I think I can tone things down a bit without losing the flavor of the book. Bear with me, please, and let me know how you feel about what I'm doing.
Some writers on SOL claim they write for themselves, and to an extent that's true; but I write for readers, in the hope that for a brief moment the enjoyment of my work makes their day better.

Editing Wizard

I'm in the process of editing Wizard's Apprentice, and I'm considering now whether I shouldn't start toning down some of the Elizabethan language.
I'm okay with it--hey, I had the fun of writing it, and my friend PC Bondsman enjoyed editig it--but I've had a couple of comments from readers that the language is a turnoff.
So, in the spirit of compromise: if you can deal with the original (and after you get used to it it's not difficult at all), I'll leave the original version up on Bookapy. But for SOL readers, I'll begin stripping out some of the less-common verbiage.

Wizard 2

Just submitted the second chapter in The Wizard's Apprentice, and this time I tried another format, using Word to create the filtered.html version. That one supposedly removes some of Word's extraneous commands.
Also worth mentioning: I'm outed! The cover photo is from the Bookapy submission, and that's the name I publish under on other sites.

Looking at the posts, I'm thinking that somehow part of my post to Bookapy got cross-posted to SOL. I only included the photo in the Bookapy submission, but I spotted it on one of the SOL posts.
Anyway, I've asked the moderator to remove one of them, and for those who told me about it, thanks!

New story!

I've just submitted a prologue and first chapter of a new stand-alone book, The Wizard's Apprentice. It's not at all like my earlier tales!
Darwin's World explores survival, Jacob Jennings is a history-based western, but Apprentice?
I wrote it for the sheer fun of writing. To start with, it's got more humor than a coyote has fleas!
It's also written in fake Shakespearean English, and no doubt I imbibed more than I should have while writing it, but e'en so the tale hangs together.
For the squeamish, there's a bit of non-sexual squick which is soon glossed over. Ye need only cover your eyes when the dastardly deed is done, for fear not! 'Tis a tale where in the end all is made right!
And if ye think ye've discovered all the jests, aye, and low humor? Why, write me and brag of your perspi...ah...discern..aw, hell, cleverness!
