My shout out to all you guys and gals who have served in the military both in peace and in combat. My hats off to you and thanks.
You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence not with a parade of guns, tanks, and missiles, filing by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with hometown parades, family picnics, and park-side fireworks. Have fun America celebrating your freedom.
I'm taking a break from the snow and cold, and taking in the sun and sights here in Balneario Camboriu, Brazil. I'm also soaking up lots of ideas for some new stories.
I may have to repost my story titled "The Pension." I originally wrote it in Portuguese and translated it to English. I should have changed the titled to "The Hostel" or "The Boardinghouse." The current title sounds like it refers to a retirement income. Maybe that's why so few have read it. If you do get a chance to read it, let me know. Thanks or obrigado!
