Celebrations in Brazil

Abraços and congratulations to all Brazilian readers for today's important holiday, commemorating Nossa Senhora Aparecida, the Appearance of Our Lady, the patron saint of your country. Also, today Brazil celebrates Dia da Criança, or Children's Day. It's like a second Christmas for lots of kids there.
It's springtime in the southern tip, while the rainy season is returning to the rest of the country. I miss the smells and sounds and most of all the people. Saudades…

Since the author does not allow feedback, I thought I'd go the extra mile and make my comments known through my blog.
The story sputters along at first, but it's fascinating enough to want to read more. It's a carefully crafted piece weaving food, politics and sex together like I've never seen before. It's a very unique tale and it didn't give me indigestion.
To borrow a phrase I have never used, I found this story to be "fair and balanced" and quite enjoyable.

I'm not a reviewer, but this story deserves special mention. The author did a great job! It's not easy to write a story based exclusively on dialogue. The well known writing professor Janet Burroway suggests that dialogue should be used as a means of describing an action, a character, to set the scene, or reveal the past. Dag123 accomplished all that and more. BTW, the dialogue is witty and tastefully erotic.

Is it fair to ask why the stats regarding votes and score are not being shown? I see stories that were posted within days of mine that have a smaller number of downloads, yet the other stats are fully displayed. I would think that these numbers are important tools for readers to guide their reading choices. I do want to thank the more than 800 readers who have read the story in the last 4 days. Maybe they would like to to see the other stats, too.

Originally, I wrote this story in Portuguese for my Brazilian readers back in 2015. Brazilians equate Russians with sex slavery and a lot of other nasty stuff. Therefore, the characterization of the two Russians as villains was a subconscious choice and purely accidental, and has no bearing on the current discussion of Russian collusion.
