Last Wednesday, Nov. 9, I was directed by my primary care provider at the VA to go immediately to the ER after complaining about a headache that had been going on for over a week.
Turns out, I had a 99% blockage to my left carotid artery and a small blood clot could have caused me to have had a massive stroke. The kicker is that I'm only 50, damn it!
I'm now a real and true metal head, as I have a bunch of stints in my head. The blockage is cleared, there. I now get to go back for vascular surgery to remove a bad blockage from my hip upwards on the right side.
Needless to say, I will not be working on any stories for a while. I need to recover and get my health back.
Thank you, all who have commented on my stories. I know I'm not the best; however, I do give you my best and attempt to improve with each story I post.
Sincerely,
Diederic Rask
I was sure more stories than the three that showed up for Do-Overs were eligible, but I'm still thrilled at being nominated, let alone third (even if by default LOL).
Hope everyone had a great weekend, and congratulations to all the winners of the Clitorides!
Never boot off of a RAID 0 array - it will eventually cause problems; as I learned personally and now have to correct.
Thanks to all those who sent me email.
A great little program: ProduKey. You can use it to get your product keys from Windows products. Good to have those saved somewhere safe so you can do a clean install if you need to do such. It sure would have saved me a lot of time. It can be found at:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html It's small, it doesn't need to be installed (it can work from a thumbdrive). It's a great and useful tool.
Now, I get to install Windows 7 Ultimate and activate it, then install Windows 10 and activate it, and then after I get the product key, do a clean install of Windows 10.
Hopefully others will learn from my experience.
Have a great day!
A few weeks ago my system stopped booting. My Primary HD was a pair of 256G SSD Drives RAIDed into one. Somewhere along the way, the partition with the boot info was corrupted and since then nothing I did allowed me to restore or even install Windows back onto them. So, I got a new SSD that's 512G and just installed Windows onto it. Now I get to install all my drivers, programs, games, and files. Most of them were not on the drives affected, thank goodness.
So, yay for me. I guess... LOL
The concluding chapters of book two have posted. Book three will be a few weeks, at the least, in coming. While, to some, the part of the story seems rushed, it's only a small part of a larger whole.
Thank you for reading it. Though, I'd really appreciate feedback from those who rate it so low (less than a 5); I can't please everyone, but I certainly cannot improve without feedback.
Have a great weekend!
