I have begun posting Earthbound, the first volume of The Earthbound Series. This series is a set of five novels about a civilization founded when a 23rd century interstellar mission from Earth suffers a warp accident sending them 5,000 years into the past, where on an earth-like planet they founded a colony that thrived. After a few hundred years, the progeny of the original colonists returned to space. Needing Earth plants to survive they send agents to Earth who covertly walk among Earth's population to gather genetic material. Eventually they founded a galactic hegemony comprising more than a dozen planets.
The stories center on Nykkyo Kyhana, such an agent sent to Earth for a 1-year stint in the final days of the twentieth century. His work becomes far from mundane when he encounters and falls in love with Sukiko, a troubled woman he believes is his direct ancestor and in serious need of help. He also knows that a less-distant direct ancestor played a critical role in the founding of his world. Nykkyo's love for Sukiko risks disrupting future events, thus jeopardizing his own existence and that of his people.
I wrote these books a quarter-century ago and published them on-line back in the day before Google seemingly abandoned its "Don't be Evil" motto. The books were well-received by readers at the time. In those days, before SEO and AI, when a web search returned results instead of clutter, a search like "Download Free Sci-Fi Novel" would return "The Earthbound Series" in the first ten results.
I decided to try posting them on SOL to see if they could attract and be enjoyed by a fresh readership.
The Earthbound Series contains scenes of non-graphic sexuality, a rape, and scenes of moderate violence. Each clocks in at about 80,000 words. They are suitable for older teens and adults.
