Good day! And so we come to another Wednesday, it's once more kinda gloomy weather. Yesterday was pleasant though with a bit of sunny clarity. Alas, I doubt you read my blog for the weekly weather in the PNW though.
Updates! That's what we are here for, or you're just a curious looky-lou wondering what this duck is talking about. (My glucose is a bit low so the post may have a frantic vibe to it, apologies)
So, Folie a Toi has concluded, and yes I added a bit of a 'tease' afterword in the form of a tiny 12th chapter. I am working on a time travel-esque story. One that will be more ongoing than the short adventure of Birdy and Jester, though that one was more of a set up. And, if you are an avid (or at least casual) reader of my works you'll notice Kalispher (Mr. Dietrich) from Adrianna's story line being the opening narrator in the afterword. I do like to link my stories.
On another note I decided to post some of my poems, writing is a type of therapy for me. I'm not a pro, but I am working on it as I really enjoy writing. I'll probably revisit my earlier writing with heavy edits and what not.
I would probably request an editor, but I am insufferably awkward and honestly I feel like I don't deserve much attention at all (which is why I am constantly in awe of those of you who read my writing AND follow me?! WOW!!! You guys are AMAZING!) My self-confidence is terribly misplaced in my worst traits whereas my better traits I feel make me a terrible person. I'm working on it. I both crave attention, and yet I despise society. -_- I'm not that bad a person in reality, and I swear I'm really not that 'gloomy' usually, people say I'm a delight but I don't get it.
Anyway! I really do appreciate you all so much and I hope I can still entertain you with my writings moving forward. So, be on the lookout for my next writing projects. Until then, thank you all! ^_^v

Good day everyone! Ahh, spring is in the air here in my neck of the woods and I am excited for the rising temperatures! We've had quite a few sunny days too which is a vast improvement for the seasonal/weather induced blues.
From the stats it looks like my Adrianna story is doing about as well as Folie is, and I'm glad. IT's nice to know I am providing some entertainment to you my readers, and I value you all, thank you! Though, I do need to work on it more if I want to make it as consistent a post as Folie, I only have one new installment available at the moment for it.
Oh, another bit of news, next Monday will mark the final installment for Folie a Toi. It really has been a fun adventure that one. Don't worry though! If you are a fan of my writings I have plenty more stories and ideas for you. I mean, I do have Adrianna as currently on-going, I'm not sure how long that one will be, but she's proving to be pretty interesting I think. I look forward to her development.
Now, I will admit, I've been having difficulty with maintaining focus on everything, little ambition for anything, and slight apprehension about furthering my life in a (preferably) positive way. Winter and health issues provided an excuse for me to embrace my recluse tendencies and I am finding it difficult to 'Human adult' again. Writing had been a wonderful (and allowed) outlet for me in this recovery phase, but I really do need to get back to forging a decent life for myself. I'll still keep writing, it's better than the alternative form of 'venting'.
Anyway, once more I will close with a great big (and I hope you know it's genuine in nature) THANK YOU! To all you lovely readers. As always, I would love to hear from you.
Have a fantastic spring day! ^_^v

Happy April 1st!

Happy April 1st everyone! It's been a pretty quiet day here so far, though the cats decided to cause a ruckus last night. I have more bandages on my left hand than a mummy in the sarcophagus. Why did I ever agree to adopting such deadly little fuzz-balls? Actually, out of the three I have here, technically I only adopted one, the other two were somewhat inherited.
Anyway! There are just a couple more chapters left in Folie A Toi, I'm pretty excited (I'm sure I've said that already). So happy to those of you who have been following along with me for this adventure and I do hope you continue to stick around for what I have next.
Speaking of...Some of you may have noticed the new story I started last week, Adrianna. She's actually a rather recent character addition in my repetoire. I wasn't planning on doing too much with her, but she took on a life of her own and will be a nice addition to the little universe I'm expanding. I hope her stories are as entertaining as the misadventurings of Birdy and Jester have been. Not sure how consistent her story postings will be though as she is quite new and I only have one other installment to post of her. I like to have a cushion of more if I have a 'scheduled' posting day.
I'm also happy to say my more 'longer' story I've been working on has a nice little cushion, I'll begin posting that one after posting the last installment of Folie'.
So, last blog I asked about crepes, I want to shout out that I did get an answer, but I haven't received permission to mention names so I won't do that, just know if you read this, THANK YOU! I always appreciate good food suggestions! I may be a foodie...
So, to wrap this up so I'm not continually dragging my feet about getting my other responsibilities met...
Thank you again for sticking around, I appreciate you all so much and would love to hear from you, keep an eye out for my future projects, and if you have a baller recipe of any kind I'd love to hear!
Don't go fool'n around too much! ^_^V

The Duck's weekly blog posting

Good day, or night, to all! It's another chilly day here in my little corner of the PNW, cloudy and oh so overcast.
So, I have an exciting story update, I have closed work on Folie a Toi, I have just a handful of chapters left to post and then we get the conclusion. Not to worry though if you do enjoy my writing, I am still working on my long-term project and will start posting it after I conclude my current (only) story submission. I'm kinda a 'one-at-a-time' person. This long term project has been in the works for years, mostly due to re-writes because I have bad luck with crashing computers (I swear it's not because of visiting shady porn sites.)
I have a question for any of you authors out there, what is your experience with creating new worlds? Like, creating completely new societal constructs, laws, systems, and what-not. I am having a bi of difficulty with creating a viable/believable/realistic political system and political anything is super boring to me. I guess what I'm asking for is for study/research tips? In my years attending educational facilities I found my assigned research projects to be enjoyable, so it wasn't difficult. DAMN I do not like politics! So any tips or idea bouncing would be welcome.
Going back to my conclusion announcement, it really has been an enjoyable experience, sharing the story with you all, and I appreciate you all for sticking with me through it. Hopefully you'll enjoy my future submissions as well, and I would love to hear from you!
The following is a little nursery jig I thought of and meant to incorporate it into my current story: (To the tune of 'Baa-baa-black sheep')
Birdy birdy, To where have you flown? Time to play in trees from the seeds you’ve sown.
Birdy birdy, to where have you flown? Don’t miss the fun from the seeds that you’ve sown.
Birdy birdy, to where have you flown? Only peace and joy from the seeds that you’ve sown.
Birdy birdy, I see where you have flown, to the safety and love from the seeds that you've sown.

Instead I've slightly modified it and it will show up in the last installment.
Randomly, little rhymes and jingles will pop into my head, I think the coolest thing ever was when an ex of mine put two of my poems together and wrote accompanying music for it. Too bad he's an ex though, it made a really cute song.
Oh! Another thing, so I was told that I have a bad habit of posting a daunting 'wall of text'. I am so sorry! If ever I do a 'remastering' of Folie a Toi I will be sure to edit better (unless by that time I have an actual editor to call me out on my lack of skill and BS) Moving forward I am trying to be better about it, so as I make reading a little easier on you guys. Please accept my apologies.
So for my last thought here, totally legitimate question here, any tips on making a good crepe? I've been craving crepes with hollandaise but I am not good at making crepes, hey end up being scrambled pancakes.

Happy Wednesday!

Hello all! It's a sunny day here in my neck of the woods, hope you all are doing well too.
Well, I'm working on what I am certain will be the last installment for Folie a Toi, it has been a fun journey and the story actually ended up being longer than I had expected. I'm more accustomed to much shorter stories. I thank you for following me along for this story and hope you stick around for what else I have to offer up. I'd love to hear from you too, what do you like? What don't you like? Is there anything you'd like me to explore more among my writings? I enjoy making interconnections among my writings, so there will be a lot of tie ins among my stories as I move forward despite different genres and story content. This site has been pretty welcoming so far and I'm excited about sticking around and making more posts.
I don't have a whole lot to blab on about today so I'll end here. Until next time! ^_^v
