Hello all! It's a sunny day here in my neck of the woods, hope you all are doing well too.
Well, I'm working on what I am certain will be the last installment for Folie a Toi, it has been a fun journey and the story actually ended up being longer than I had expected. I'm more accustomed to much shorter stories. I thank you for following me along for this story and hope you stick around for what else I have to offer up. I'd love to hear from you too, what do you like? What don't you like? Is there anything you'd like me to explore more among my writings? I enjoy making interconnections among my writings, so there will be a lot of tie ins among my stories as I move forward despite different genres and story content. This site has been pretty welcoming so far and I'm excited about sticking around and making more posts.
I don't have a whole lot to blab on about today so I'll end here. Until next time! ^_^v
I wasn't going to make a post of any sort today. I typically like to wait until my usual times of posting (Monday for story installments, and I think Thursday or Wednesday for a blog?) however I feel a bit inspired by a rather talented gent who has been enormously helpful with insights into general and ideas I otherwise don't typically entertain (not my usual intrusive thoughts, delicious to a terminally curious mind). I'd mention names, but I'm not sure I have permission, if I do obtain permission I'll probably post names.
Anyway! As always I would like to thank those of you who have been following along with my story 'Folie a Toi', you're amazing. I am currently on the ending part of it, but if you do enjoy it I hope you like my take on the sci/fi genre as the world in which Jester and Birdy are living their adventure will be the same (albeit about a decade or so in the future) as where my newer (actually older...) stories will be mainly set. ("Fish, what do you mean by 'mainly'?" My dear reader, if you stick around you'll see.)
On another note, I am toying with testing the waters on ACTUAL horror and psychological terror too, so I'm going to post an excerpt on something I am working on and I really would like to know if anyone would be interested in it, otherwise it'll probably be an unpublished "I am writing these things out so I don't put actions to what those damned intrusive thoughts want me to do" situation. Writing really is an outlet for me after all.
I'm posting the 'tease' of a story idea here in the blog because I've noticed that there are some rather popular niches on this site, niches I am not at all talented at writing competently, however if I found this place, and I myself have unique tastes, then there must be someone else who would be entertained by my particular flavors so to speak. (I mean, there are a few of you I know for a fact I didn't bribe to read my other story...right?)
So, before reading any further please note, there is gore, there is viscera, there is a corpse, there is the devouring of menstrual elements in the following passage. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
(I'm working on the title and the actual monster, skin-walker? Wendigo? I want to be sure of what it actually is before I name it properly and yes I am actually researching this stuff, if you have any materials or references as to such creatures I would love for your input!)
>>The actual excerpt follows>>
A sickening crunch stirred the woman awake. She found that she couldn’t move, her whole body numb, her vision blurry but slowly coming into focus, and her head throbbing as though she had been drugged. More crunching, and something like slurping, the sounds reminded her of a safari she and her fiance had gone on. The sounds that a group of hyenas had made when they were eating an antelope. That was it, the sound was unmistakable, something was eating something else. It sounded big too, was it a bear? Her heart began to race, if she was incapacitated in the presence of a hungry bear she was done for. Where was her fiance? She desperately tried to move but only managed to turn her neck to face the direction of the sounds. She blinked, trying to focus on the surroundings. Her mind couldn’t entirely comprehend what her eyes were relaying. Whatever this was, it was no bear. She felt panic rising, heart racing, body beginning to heat up in fear. Even if she could move, she would have been paralyzed by the vision before her. Something was crouched over a skinless carcass, feasting on the muscle and sinew, claws ripping at the bowels. It had a head like a cervid, but larger than any deer or elk she had ever seen and with fangs like a mountain lion, horns like a bighorned sheep and antlers like an elk on its head, rotting flesh was hanging off it in places, a deflated eye in one socket and nothing in the other. Its arms seemed almost humanlike, but longer, and its fingers ended in claws that curved like a cats, she couldn’t make out much else since it was crouched over the corpse that separated the two, but she could see more rotted looking flesh along with lichen and, was that fungi growing on some of the exposed bones? It was an impossible looking mass of death and rot, but there it was, eating something, or someone. The woman was certain she would be next, and that only compounded the fear she was trapped in. The creature looked up from its gory feast and stared at the woman, if one could call it a stare with an empty socket and a deflated eye. It stood, at its full height it looked to be well over seven feet, the lower body looked to have had more flesh stretched taut over a sinewy human-like structure. She could see into the torso, what looked like a putrid, but fully animated, scene of rotting organs. How was this thing existing? Ribs broke through the thin skin on its right, while the left had rips that looked held together with the lichen and fungi.
‘I’m gonna die…’ she could think of nothing else but a horrific death. The beast looked to the side and retrieved something that almost looked like a leather pelt. The woman closed her eyes tightly, if she was to die, she didn’t want that hideous thing to be the last thing she saw. The sounds of cracking and stretching chords echoed off the damp walls of the cavern the two were in. She managed now to tremble uncontrollably, still unable to consciously force any movements. Soon she felt hot wet breath on the skin exposed from her ripped clothing, first along her neck and moving down. She heard the thing sniffing her. Unwilling to look at it, she imagined that the thing was crouched over her like it had been over the corpse just a few feet away, then the smell hit her hard. She hadn’t noticed it earlier, too afraid of everything and mentally not caught up to the situation. The smell was absolutely insufferable, that distinctive, unmistakable scent of death and rot. Her head was swimming, she felt she may pass out again, then it removed what remained of her pants and underwear, exposing her lower body completely. ‘Of course’ she thought, ‘the flesh of the belly is softest, no bones to get in the way. This is it, I’m dead.’ The trembling got worse, then she felt it. Her eyes widened, she looked down at the creature, but it was different, it looked almost human, and it was licking her crotch, tongue impossibly long and going deep into her, as if it wanted to slurp the contents of her womb. She was on her cycle, was it just so attracted to blood that it was going to start there? Unexpectedly she let out a gasp she didn’t realize she was holding, despite the horror of it all, this felt incredible. She hated that she knew she was about to die, and yet no one had ever eaten her out in such an amazing way. The irony, she thought, getting eaten out, and then getting eaten. The creature looked up, her menstrual blood covering the tattered lips. The face that looked at her was a zombified version of her fiance. That was it, she couldn’t take it anymore and passed out once more, certain she would never awaken again.
Tech one looked at scribe one, “She passed out again. Do you think it will eat her this time?”
Scribe one didn’t look up from its tablet, “No, it’s treating this one differently. Almost reverently.”
Tech one looked at the display monitor at the two subjects, the ‘monster’ carried the human female subject bridal style to its nest. “You think the cafeteria will have meatloaf again today?”
Scribe one, still inputting data on the tablet, responded, “I hope not, that shit tastes like a bloody nose.”
(As I read over after posting that, I am appalled, Cervid is part of the English language! What spell check is this site running?!)
Anyway, please let me know what you think, if you want more or no. I'd like to read your thoughts. ^_^v
Hello readers!
As the title says, 'uhg' this week is kicking my ass. Everyone seems to be coming down with a cold around me and it started with the Endocrinologists kiddo. It's caused quite a lull in my creative thinking for current projects and I've found that I've been 'fluffing' all of my writing projects. (I guess that's good for inter-character developments??) maybe it means for a longer last installment of a couple, or I dunno, something. Hopefully not too dullsville. On the flip side, I have been inspired for a new story that I think I can manage to tie into the lore of what I've already got, though a different tone and whatnot, just need to work on getting he imagery out of my mind and translated to text on a word doc. I think it fits better with me, being a recluse by nature.
Anyhow, hopefully I have more done soon and can get back to a comfortable buffer of how many installments I have left, versus what I have to post. I'm not sure that last statement makes any sense, here's hoping.
From a dismally rainy area, I wish you all a wonderful day!
^_^v
Hello hello readers! Hope you've had a good week, to those following my story you may have noticed my latest upload was quite short. It was also posted outside when I usually post a chapter (Mondays). That was really just a bonus short I couldn't find a spot for in the story proper, I just don't like to waste materials. Hope you liked he treated, sorry if you were expecting a legitimate chapter though, please rest assured, I will be submitting the 'real' fifth chapter on Monday, so long I don't fall prey to some misfortune of sorts. I've really been enjoying posting by the way, and greatly appreciate everyone who's been following and reading. Thank you! This story is coming to a close, if not the last I am working on either second to last installment currently. As I mentioned in earlier blogs though I'm working on other stories involved in the 'lore' or same world as Folie a Toi's setting. In other words, this story isn't the last of me.
In any case, be looking out for chapter five tomorrow, until then,
Thank you! ^_^v
Ah, another Monday, that means I'll be posting the next addition to Folie a Toi today! My, last week went by so quickly and so slowly at the same time. I find myself now at the most difficult part of my story creation, attaching the main bulk to the end. The end of my stories tend to form themselves first, and then I add the head and body, but connecting the end always proves difficult. Maybe I don't want it to end? Though admittedly this story has one of my least favorite characters created (you'd never guess who it is. -_- ). This story though I find necessary for my other stories (of which I plan on posting eventually) due to it being within the same universe, though more modern than the 90's (eh....so to speak).
If anyone has any advice on just how to connect story parts I am ALL EARS! I welcome coaching and constructive criticism.
Thank you all again! ^_^v
