The new chapters have been sent to be posted.
This week's chapters open with Max preparing to abduct 'the Fish'. He leaves him in their new hotel in the sub-basement of the second Otis House.
Frank isn't very cooperative the next morning, but eventually he tells them all that he knows about the Magic Haters.
Paddy's rush job isn't working out well, and Max offers to help him with it. Jill and Maureen want to go with them.
Thursday, Max checks the routes to Salem, while Jill makes reservations at the Hawthorne Hotel. Paddy returns with a fat check for the rush job.
Saturday, they leave for Salem. That night they listen in on a meeting of the Magic Haters and learn about their latest operation. They eventually investigate the tunnels connected to the hotel.
Sunday, they tour the old Custom House looking for clues to the tunnels. Later they watch the heroin being unloaded, before returning to the tunnels to see where it is being stored.
More next week.

This week's chapters open with Paddy at the Pub with his employees. Paddy gets very drunk. Max uses the hangover spell on him the next morning before they move into the house that he is allowing them to use. Following that Max and Paddy leave for the North End where the Patriarca's have their headquarters. Paddy explains their history.
Maureen is still at their apartment when Max arrives later that evening. Jill has been teaching her Magic. Maureen's Mother arrives as they finish dinner, and they go up to meet her. Max needs to demonstrate that there actually is Magic before she will believe it.
Later Max transfers to the North End and the New Acorn Social Club to check it and Frank 'the Fish' out. There is much talk there before Frank arrives. Max leaves to check out the other club and the 'cheeseman's' apartment.
Arriving near the condo, he transfers inside and hears an argument between the DiNunzio brothers and learns much about the Magic Haters before returning home for the night.
The next day, Max is worried about hanging 'the Fish' and alerting those in Salem. Jill returns from doing research at the library and Max learns that there are tunnels under part of Boston.
While many of the tunnel entrances are no longer accessible, the Second Otis House on Beacon Hill is still available. Max and Jill investigate the basement of the house where they find two tunnel entrances. One leads to a larger tunnel, and the second leads to an area with a very fancy and private prison.
More chapters next week.
I wish all of the readers on SOL a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year.

This weeks chapters open with Max and Jill preparing to travel to Boston after doing their research on the crime families there. They arrive at their hotel there on Sunday afternoon.
Early Monday morning they head for Southie, hoping to locate help finding Frank 'the Fish'. Later a young girl begs them to help her Grandfather. Max deals with the hoodlums, and Jill takes care of Paddy O'Farrell. There are introductions and explanations on both sides, before they go to lunch at a local Pub.
Paddy volunteers to show Max where the Patriacas operate and arranges for them to stay in an apartment that he owns. Following lunch they go to check out the apartment before returning to Paddy's shop where they are confronted by three gang members who crash in the front door of the shop.
After dealing with them, Paddy recommends they move their SUV behind his shop, but the police are waiting at the SUV. Max makes it disappear and the police go in search of it.
After interrogating the hoodlums, Max and Paddy take one to see the gang boss. When he won't cooperate, Max moves all of them to the top of an office tower. When the boss still won't listen, Max pushes him off the top of the building, but the noose in the electrical wire won't hold his weight and he falls a dozen stories to his death.
Later, returning from dinner, they are accosted by three young men who want to rob them. After freezing them in place, they tie them up around a street light, and Max casts a short term shell around them before they return to their hotel. The next morning they move to the apartment that Paddy has for them.
More chapters next week.
I wish all of the readers on SOL a Very Merry and Safe Christmas.

The opening chapters of the new story have been sent to the Moderators for posting.
The third story in the Injustice Series opens with Max and Jill arriving at the O'Donnell farm. They are just in time for Jill to help with the preparations for Thanksgiving dinner. Max is tasked with inviting the Kanes and Angus to the dinner. This is where Angus meets Calisa, who was also invited to the dinner. They immediately strike up a strong friendship.
Later they are invited to the Kane's for Christmas. Angus had seen the transfer spell that Max had used and is at the Kane's house when he and Jill arrive on Christmas Eve. Max takes him to Calisa's house. On Christmas, everyone has too much of Nick's hard cider. They are all invited to the New Year's Eve party at the O'Donnell farm. Max, Jill, Angus and Calisa are among the few who don't drink too much.
All of this time the weather in New England, and especially in Boston, has not been conductive to Max and Jill traveling up there to investigate. Several heavy snow storms have buried Boston, and they need to wait for better weather to travel up there.
The final chapters have been sent to the Moderators for posting.
This week's chapters open with Cleve learning that Sergeant Cornplanter is a real fighter. Also that morning four men from the Addison III National Guard arrive. The Colonel is not impressed with them. Later that day there is trouble with Sergeant Cracker again when he bursts in on Susie in the shower.
The next morning trouble develops when they learn they have no transportation. The problem becomes worse when they learn that the rebels have been active in the city over night. They head for the Air Wing Headquarters when everyone is ready. The assault on the headquarters and the runways is proceeded by a distraction provided by Task force Six elements who shoot down a blockade runner at the runway. Later Cleve and the Colonel inspect the results of the battle.
It requires another two days for planes to be ready to take them to the initial search sites. They leave on day three and spend three more days in the field searching several abandoned camp sites. This is followed by three more weeks with little to show for their efforts.
The National Guard contingent is changed during this time and they are replaced by Guardsmen who are professional hunters. During the fourth week of searches, things improve and they begin to find evidence of hastily abandoned camps. They are even fired on by a sniper at one of the camps.
The next search operation starts badly with transportation problems. They arrive at the landing site very late and set up but don't set out for the camp location. The Colonel soon realizes that this was done on purpose. That night they are attacked by the rebels, who are beaten back. The Colonel calls the Chief Investigator for police assistance with the clean up.
In the morning Cleve goes to find his Partners and the two men they have captured and guarded over night. Later that morning, the Team and the Marines set out for the camp some seven miles through the jungle. Following a short skirmish they reach the camp where there are many sick and injured. The Partners are sent after the escaping mercenaries.
Everyone is eventually evacuated and they return to the warehouse. The President declares the rebellion over. The Marines are returned to their ships, and most of the Army personnel are recalled.
Six weeks later orders arrive in the form of the Special Operations S-3. The Team and the Colonel are headed for Headquarters and a new assignment, one that the S-3 tells them they will eventually hate him for.
This ends the Partners story, but not the series, as there is at least one more story planned.
I am currently working on Injustice III, Magic Ink VIII, and a fun story called Marianne. None of these are ready for posting yet.
I wish to thank all who have read this story, especially those of you who have sent me emails with corrections or told me how much you enjoyed the story.
