New chapters have been sent to the Moderators for posting.
This week's chapters open with lots of problems. There are new employees to be checked out, and old employees to be interrogated. There are also prisoners to be interrogated, and the dead to be dealt with.
The Marine's Company Commander arrives that afternoon along with more of his unit. Trish invites him to dinner but is busy interrogating prisoners. Mr. Henshaw arrives the next day with three Monks.
The Monks determine where to hold the ceremony and the cremation. One of the Monks passes out from a rapidly spreading disease. There are questions about why there hadn't been information earlier about the disease. Trish contacts the Admiral to alert her to the disease and to request assistance before going to question Mr. Henshaw. They eventually learn the truth and are shocked by the possibilities.
In these chapters, the real problems on Owen's World are revealed. Enjoy these chapters. More next week.

This week's chapters open with First Mobile finally obtaining an adequate facility for their unit and the Marines they will be receiving. The Navy task-force had already arrived, and the Admiral wants to know when they will be ready to receive Marines.
To ensure they are ready to operate, Cleve and Joel go into New Bangkok to obtain maps, intelligence on the guerrillas, and weather data. The Contracting Officer accompanies them and accomplishes a lot that day.
The first Marine shuttle arrives the next morning and it and the compound are attacked by two separate forces. The attackers are dealt with, but the contract employees are missing. Cleve leads a patrol out to retrieve the missing employees.
On locating the employees, there is a problem as some of them think the Tigers are Demons. They all return to the compound together.
There are a number of dead attackers and some prisoners. They learn that live prisoners are a bit unusual, but they need to learn how the dead are to be cared for. There is another problem when a bomb is found on one of the trucks.
These chapters reveal just some of the problems that the Unit and the Marines will have to deal with during this mission.
Enjoy these chapters, more next week as the writing of the story is finished.

Am a little late today because the power went out here at 1600 hours, and was just recently restored. Had to get all of the computers back up and running.
This week's chapters open with a briefing on the unit's new assignment. Other than facts and figures about the system, and a little on Buddhism, the briefing doesn't answer many of the questions or provide a clear description of the problem. Later the Marine Liaison arrives.
The delay in the arrival of their ship allows the unit to receive and train the new people they are getting for the mission. They are met by a Unity representative on arrival at the space station but are attacked before they can go down to the planet. Bob takes care of the problem.
Once on the planet, the representative leads them to the area prepared for them, which is wholly inadequate. He is also overwhelmed by the requirements of the eventual combined unit which will include a Company of Marines.
While they wait for a proper headquarters area, the advanced Team is put up in a hotel for a time.
In these two chapters, some of the problems with the mission begin to emerge. Things will not improve for a time. Some of the answers to their questions will appear at different times during the story.
I finished typing the final chapter of Owen's World this afternoon just before the power went out. In fact, I had just typed 'The End' when the power failed, as if that was a sign or something.
Enjoy these chapters. More next week, if the power stays on.

This week's chapters open with Lucy and Joel attending the administrative portion of the Officer's Basic Course. They learn about the new Team on returning from the Basic Course and Lucy works with Kaera.
After nine months, the unit's personnel begin to return and remain. The aerial Partners return shortly after that. The ground Partners return a short time later.
The next day the ground Partners are introduced to the Jaguars. There are some initial problems. Field training and cross training start nearly immediately to get all of the Teams operating together.
Later, Sergeant Bell joins them for a unit field exercise. He brings news that the Headquarters is also having a field exercise. Those at First Mobile were unaware of this. That afternoon, they are visited by two Team Leaders who will be the aggressor for the Headquarters exercise. Information is exchanged.
Later on their exercise, they become aware of someone preparing to attack them. They prepare a reception for them. They are very surprised.
Shortly after returning from the field exercise, they are alerted for a new mission.
The chapters following these will reveal the mission and leave those in the unit wondering about a number of things.
Enjoy these chapters. More next week. There are now 26 chapters, and I haven't finished the story.

This week's chapters open with Kaera accompanying Tiger Team to their recreation area. They wish to learn more about her and her Talent.
Six weeks or so later Otho creates another incident. Tiger Team uses their Magic to straighten things out.
The advanced studies program culminates with the use of strong spell which cause problems but Tiger Team has the cure.
Shortly after Luther and Miranda leave for the administrative portion of the Officer Basic course, Kaera is assigned to the unit. Trish realizes that she now has half of a new Team. She checks on the availability of ground Partners. There will be a lot of cross training required for a new Team.
With these chapters, things are coming together for the unit. There is still a lot of training and cross training needed before they can be ready to deploy. There are a number of twists and turns ahead before the story ends.
Enjoy these chapters. More next week.
