As part of writing chapter 79 of Too Much Love, I was rereading chapter 77. This line cracked me up:

"[I]f you tell Kiki you need time, she's going to hit on you pretty much every single day. If you tell her no, she's like a sexual snooze alarm. She'll come back every so often to give you a chance to see the error of your ways."

Getting back into a piece this complex is slow. I'm back to writing every single day, but a lot of the writing is still continuity stuff and, while I've got 22 pages written in the "chapter 79" file, I think 18 of them might wind up coming later in the book.

I may post some fragments here in the blog from other stories I've been kicking around in to jump start the creativity.

For the first time in a while, I was able to sit down and write the world of the Stones yesterday. I wrote four pages of the first scene of TML Chapter 79, realized I'd screwed up continuity, and rewrote it as three pages.

It's slow progress, but it's progress. I'm writing more today (right now,) and hope to get back into the swing of writing every day.

Thank you to everyone who wrote to inquire into my well-being. I'm holding in through the chaos and remain as healthy as I was before the pandemic started.

It's been another crazy week and there's no sign this coming week is going to be any better.

I'm still writing, but each chapter of Too Much Love takes about 20 hours to write and I'm just not getting that kind of time during the week.

Upcoming chapters will become intermittent until I can find a new normal to settle into. I'll report my progress here.

Chapter 79 will be delayed at least a week. I've been getting some writing done, but it's mostly updating my CV. Wish me luck on the job hunt. The sooner I get a job, the sooner my free time can be focused on writing again.

I'm 2/3 done with the initial draft of chapter 78, but I'm bumping up against the time I would need to have it to my editor to release this week.

RL kind of kicked my ass this week (not just the big public events) and today is not a good day to write. Rather than get myself on a schedule where I'm rushing to finish each week going forward, I'm going to skip this week.
