It has been a bit too long, since I last wrote or posted, due in part to health, home issues, and the fact that I got hacked and lost all my passwords. So many things have gone on since I posted, but I can say that I was not hiding on the island of misfit toys, nor where ever Cold Creek and El Sol have lost themselves. I am finally back to writing again, though I am slower since this new(used)computer I have now does not support my Dragon Naturally Speaking so I plod away banging on the keys like a monkey with a hammer, just one of the 10's of thousands of us out there in internet land. I thank those of you who liked, reviewed, and followed my stories, you are the reason that I am back, that and I personally hate unfinished stories and so need to finish mine to make myself less of a hypocrite.

Tragedy struck in San Bernardino, CA yesterday and the world is following the story. For me, I was born and raised in San Bernardino, and have played golf on the course across the street from where the shooting took place. I have eaten just down the street countless times, and I have even been in the IRC for a couple of meetings. One of the things that struck me, and I know it is not politically correct to say so, is that in entering the Inland Regional Center there is a sign forbidding the possession of any firearms or knives. It proudly proclaims that it is a gun free zone, just like Paris. Yet just like with every other mass shooting, the stupid sign telling everyone that the people there are unarmed did not stop the shooters at the door. There are never mass shootings at gun ranges like the indoor one right down the street. I am pretty sure there would have been a different outcome if the shooters had walked in the front doors of Turners Outdoors-man just a couple miles away. It took more than five minutes for the first responders of law enforcement to arrive at the IRC, and that was an excellent response time, yet the shooters had already fled the scene. I remember the words of my friend who is a retired Marine Gunny, and who my wife says is a gun nut. She asked him why he needed to have so many guns, with pistols in reach in every room of the house, since the neighborhood we live in has fantastic police response times. He answered, "It take an average of 48 seconds to call the police, and it takes the police 7 to 15 minutes average to arrive in response to the call. On the other hand, it takes me less than 10 seconds to pull and aim my gun." It was not long after that conversation that my family attended his gun safety class and all learned to shoot for our protection. I pray for those who lost people in the shooting yesterday, but I wish that the politicians would at least let the bodies cool and the facts to come out before they start in on gun control. Chicago, France, Europe in general, Washington D.C., and other places with strict gun laws have shown us that when you take away guns from the law abiding citizens, the only ones left with the guns are the criminals.
And now I will step of my soap box so the next idiot can get up and shout their opinion. God speed and thanks for reading. I am heading down to south San Bernardino to see if there is anything I can do to help. Please remember to donate blood if you can, it is needed in these and other tragedies and there is never enough when it is needed
I had my laptop, and both of my tablets die within the course of two weeks, and with refinancing the house and medical issues and bills, it wasn't until now that I have been able to type anything since I had nothing to type on. On a seperate note, I hand wrote a new story called Luna's Rebellion that I am going to start posting today. I hope you the reader will enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. I will be getting back to writing Extreme freak this week and will post the next chapter on Monday or Tuesday of next week. On a side note, thank you, those of you who sent emails asking about my health. I am feeling better, but we will see how this winter is going to effect me. Once again, thank you for reading.

I just got back from the first real vacation I have taken since I became disabled, and it was amazing. Got to spend time with my wife and daughter in a wonderful tourist trap area, had a great view from the hotel, and got to work on my German and Dutch by conversing with a group of European Blondes that were staying at the same hotel. My duaghter asked my wife if she was jealous or upset at me for talking to the 'hot blondes in small bikinis' (her words). My wife just smiled and said to her, "He is being friendly, but really, he is old and a cripple. No worries there." Realy harsh there, not even letting me have old man fantasies.... but she is right, and I do love my wife.
I will be back to writing soon. While on vacation, I wrote a little (more than 20k) story about Luna Lovegood for my daughter, and if she likes it I might post it.
I am sorry for not posting any chapters as I was in the Hospital with health complications for 7 days. I stayed sane because I had ordered pretty much every series of John Ringo, as well David Weber books I did not have. So I broke my promise of reading only one book a week, I read the Dark tide rising series, Prince Roger. Troy Rising, Legacy of the aldenata, Honor Harrington, Empire of Man, and Kildar. My doctors were angry because my pulse kept fluctuating with the intense scenes that Ringo and Weber are so able to write. Thank you to everyone who recomended these books for me to read. They kept me sane during all the down time in my room without resorting to the mind killer I call daytime TV, where you start losing IQ points by watching faster than a guy being asked for a favor by Hiedi Klum or Kate Upton in a bikini. And yes colonial, I do read that fast. lol
I am home now and will attempt to get a chapter up before Tuesday. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading.
