Our heroes learn more shocking things about the kidnaping attempt and gain a new steadfast friend who tries to help with their inhibitions. In school they had discussed phobia therapies. As far as new psychological therapies go, the therapy they choose to use is an interesting and unusual one. We'll see how our intrepid heroes react; after all, their psych teacher intimated these therapies work. Meanwhile, the Program continues to create problems for the kids, serious problems. And then comes the real shock: the Program's full power is unveiled -- only to be countered by the creativity of the schools' students.
The next instalment is queued.
Sorry--summary got out of synch. Here's what's posted:
It's Monday now and a new crop of Program inductees is to be selected. But the developing Program resistance is continuing and immediate problems ensue. Roger, Cynthia, and Ayame get sucked into (oops, my bad) a Program demonstration -- or do they if it's voluntary? And then things begin to go wrong -- big time wrong, and the twins learn just how badly they underestimated the capabilities of the federal Program officials in enforcing the Program.
The next instalment has been queued.
In this instalment, our feckless trio is confronted with a few more challenges to their Program resistance and gets some welcome news. But is the Program's seductive sexuality having an effect on our heroes? Will they try to learn more about how kids in the Program at other schools cope with the nudity and overt sex? Can they resist its insidious sexualizing effects themselves? Maybe -- or maybe not.
Roger and Cynthia is partially based on my last story, Kevin and Denise. I'm finishing it in sections in five-chapter blocks. I anticipate having the whole story up within about three weeks.
Reading Kevin and Denise first will provide context; also there are spoilers to K&D in this story, but the story can be read on its own.
The story develops slowly; first five chapters are an extended introduction. As the tale progresses, I'll be adding new story codes, so I hope you'll be patient and wait for the action as it develops.
As I did in K&D, there's a lot of social commentary here--the source of my characters' motivation.
Hope you enjoy!
