Sigh.

Well, since my last blog post, I started experiencing what I can only describe as excruciating back pain. After a couple of days of pain that got worse and worse, I went to the hospital, where I had a CT scan. The scan revealed that there was a massive deterioration of my back, with many crushed discs, misaligned discs, a bad scoliosis, and spinal stenosis ... fuck, you get the idea. Surgery followed shortly thereafter.

I'm much better now, but I'm still taking a bit of pain meds, which fucks up my concentration, and I can't really sit down for any extended period of time without aggravating my back. Combine that with having moved in (temporarily) with some of my family so they can help me out until I get fully back on my feet, and ... yeah. Time and energy for writing smut hasn't exactly been on my mind of late.

Over the past few weeks, though, I've been trying to get back in a writing groove. I'm writing about 300-400 words a day - nothing major, but enough to make headway again on some of my stories. At the present time, my goals are:

1. Finish up the next long-overdue chapter of "Listening to Jack"
2. Finish up the next two less-overdue-but-still-overdue chapters of "Playing Ball With Mom"
3. Get the first chapter of something new in the works finished and posted
4. See how my back feels
5. See where my muse takes me
6. See what my readers might be interested in
7. Figure things out from there

It's my intent that my next blog post will not be another apology, but instead an announcement of something new to read. We'll see how that goes, though.

Sometimes real life gets in the way of other things, like writing smutty stories on the Internet for free. In my case, an unexpected visit to the hospital, followed by an unexpected - and extended - stay by some of my family at my house for the past few weeks.

Writing was not one of my priorities during this time.

Anyway, I'm slowly getting back into my stories. The next chapter of "Playing Ball", I hope, will be up in the next week or so. Assuming, of course, that pesky 'real life' shit doesn't get in the way again.

I received a smattering of feedback this past week ... and I have to say, I'm a little puzzled by it.

None of it was about any of the stories I've been writing lately, nor was it about anything I've published recently. Instead, it all boiled down to one basic question, over and over:

"When are you going to post more chapters of 'Listening to Jack'?"

And I have to say, my reaction to that is ... really????

"Listening to Jack" is my longest ongoing story, and possibly my most polarizing one. Based on the voting for it - and the comments I receive on it from time to time - it's something readers either love or hate. (It's certainly got the strangest vote distribution of any story I've posted on SOL.) I haven't published a new chapter for it in well over a year, and that's partly due to the comments I received on the last three or four chapters that I posted for it.

Most of those comments amounted to "this story sucks now" and "when is 'Listening to Jack' going to get good again?". And while comments like that aren't going to stop me from completing "Jack" - I've always had every intention of completing it - it's just left me much less motivated to work on it. I've got a lot of stories I'd like to write, and a limited amount of time for writing ... so I put "Jack" on the backburner to work on other things. I didn't think anyone would particularly mind.

However, I'm genuinely surprised that there's still interest in this one. So - for any of my 'regular' readers that happen to stumble across this blog post - do you really want more of "Listening to Jack"? Or do you prefer the more recent tales I've been writing lately instead? I'm curious.

Chapter 3 of "Playing Ball With Mom" has just been submitted, so it should be up shortly. Cherie's oldest son Alex has left for a few days to go play in a school baseball tournament - but don't worry. Somehow I suspect horny mom Cherie won't be lonely for long!

As always, if you're reading "Playing Ball", thanks much, and I hope you're enjoying it. The rest of "Playing Ball" is falling together nicely as well. At the moment, I expect Chapter 4 to be done in the next few weeks, with Chapter 5 completed by the end of the year as well. But we'll see how it goes.

In the meantime, I've been fleshing out ideas and story lines for possible future tales, all in a similar vein to "Playing Ball" and "Fun With the Colte Family". One's more of a teacher/student story, one has a prominent father/daughter(s) focus ... and then there's also the previously mentioned "Colte" sequel I mentioned a few blog posts ago.

These stories may (or may not) contain elements such as cuckolding, more prominent bisexual activity, and interracial sex, in addition to the other usual types of things covered in my more recent stories. It somewhat depends on any feedback that I get. So if you have any preferences for what you'd like to read somewhere down the line - and what you hope it will/won't contain - then drop me a line.

Chapter 2 of "Playing Ball with Mom" should be posted shortly. After this chapter, much of the necessary exposition should (finally!) be out of the way ... so things should be picking up nicely over the next few chapters. But I hope if you're reading, you're enjoying the setup and the action so far.
