Semper Fidelis
Always Faithful
Always Loyal
I'm still alive and still confined to home because there is nowhere to go. No Covid-19 here, even tested negative. I've driven to the dentist and hair salon that's just reopened. I was going to buzz cut it with home clippers.
The wife is still working nights at the post office fixing machinery (six nights a week and often an additional two hours end tour so she sleeps most of the day.} She couldn't go visit her Mom in upstate New York because she would be quarantined for two weeks and wouldn't be able to fly home to go back to work. She is radically disappointed.
I read books of all varieties but have included a lot of SOL stories. I have just completed a re-read of Florida friends.
I like my own stories and read them thinking I'll tickle the Muse into helping me write and finish LA Fun. I do have a chapter started but my typing is so slow my mind and Muse loses interest. I do have a couple of chapters begun for Mystery Mountain but keep losing track of where I am.
Here's the cold hard facts. (I hate to admit these)
*My mental acuity still sucks. The VA docs say they have good drugs to keep me alive but don't have a magic pill to help the brain.
*Motor skills are slowly improving but the hands still don't work. Picking things up is difficult sometimes. (Like a fork or cutting up veggies.
*I'm not falling but I still get tilted easily. (All this and I passed my driver's license test wife insisted I take.) I asked the VA flight surgeon to give me a good certificate. He's still laughing.
I appreciate all of the notes sent. Most of my stories are good entertainment on your reader while waiting for an appointment. I'll work on finishing LA Fun and some decent short stories.
Thanks to all of you who read my stories. Stay well.
November 11th 2019...Veterans Day....A day for the USA to say 'Thank you for serving'. Yesterday was also a "Happy Birthday" (244) for the Marine Corp. All of you Vets out there, take a pause to mentally honor all those that didn't make it home and to say a prayer for all the men and women serving now. Be proud, we are one hell of group.
This story just doesn't want to end. Looks like it will be around for a while. Thanks for reading my two finger work. The muse is sticking with me even as slow as I am.
