Old rotorhead has edited chapters 18,19,20 and 21. Generally my bad punctuation, but he has also made some excellent suggestions and pointed out some historical inaccuracies. I think we have a much improved and readable stroy.

I had also made a silly error in naming Lord Kingswood's daughter Lady Kingswood. That would, of course, be his wife. So when you see her in future she will be Lady Beatrice Hatherley.

I've just update the character list to include 21 with a few notes

Bora da! I hope everyone is keeping safe in these trying times. HL and I are isolated in normal times so we are not feeling too much pain and the red wine hasn't run out yet.

Latest chapter is in the queue, not too much to say about it apart from there being some dialogue that is in French and I have represented this using italics.

I hope you are all well and avoiding the corona virus. We live in a pretty isolated spot so we are hoping to avoid it, but if either of us get it then age and infirmity are against us. And all because of the disgusting eating habits of Chinese peasants.

I received lots of help when I asked for info about California and that will be used later in the story. This episode came to me quite unexpectedly whilst up to my neck in hot water - in the bath of course - and I trust you will enjoy it.

This must be the quickest a chapter has been writen. It's been raining constantly and cold so I have been sitting doing nothing better. I think the Irish connection has now played out, it all went together quite well in the finish I though, particularly since I had no idea where it was going! Writing on an ad hoc basis has to stop! Plan ahead! As if that'll happen.
