Many thanks to all who gave help, I've now decided that the story will take a slightly different line, havibg the girl unconscious seem to be a bad idea.

Readers of Jake White will know that we have just left Lady Beatrice unconscious in a pool of blood - I'm feel queasy already - it's about 1860-65. What treatment would be given to the girl? How would she be kept alive... or not. I only want a few days before I can 'rescue' her.

Once again I am indebted to Old Rotorhead. 26 is underway, I still don't know where the ideas come from, somewhere in the septic tank (a better class of cess pit) of my mind I suppose. I hope everyone is keeping safe, despite the efforts of both UK and US governments to achieve the alternative. Oh and for those who mentioned the subject, enjoy the names!
