It's Cold Out Here!

Now that I have that off my chest I must say that for the most part that I'm doing fairly well. Though you might ask if that is a stick in my pocket... Hey it's sticking out of my back pocket, you ought to be able to see that it <u>is</> a stick.

What do I have a stick in my pocket for? Well to be honest for most of the day it is hanging from my right wrist by a loop of cord. I use it to pull the knots that I make in the lines to tie the bundles of molding tight. I also wear a knife on my left pinky finger and have managed to wear a hole in my skin at the base of my finger due to using that knife... Yeah I tie that many knots and cut that many lines in a day....
Ah well, 'tis better than starving to death....

Am I?

Picky about punctuation? I suppose I am. After all, nothing can stop me from reading a story faster than a misplaced (or missing) apostrophe.

Thus, I wonder if I may be too picky for the amateur work that is presented at SOL. Then I read stories such as are in my favorites list and I wonder why everyone doesn't take a clue from them and really bear down on not making such errors?

Of course, I've read over some of my stuff and found horrid errors that are going to remain for a while. It isn't that they don't embarrass me, so much as I have limited access to the web and use it for reading and other things rather than editing my previous posts. However if anyone wants a copy of my files to play with (as far as editing goes)I'll respond with an e-mail address and send them along.

Oh, no promises that I'll accept all your recommendations, but they will get serious consideration!

Feedback....

Today I got some nice feedback on the story Kiss and Make Up, that I have posted here. The fine correspondent even noted several errors I made... I agree with them all (or that he spotted errors) but for the time being, I really am unable to do any writing, or even significant proofreading and alteration of stories...
So, Thank you reader. Your feedback is treasured, I promise again that someday, the stars all aligning in my favor, etc, that I will begin to write again, and to proofread what I've already posted. Trust me on this friends, I've spotted a lot of really bad bloopers in my posted work, not to mention that I think that most of it could use a serious rewrite!

The Dead

Flash drive... I discovered one today. I don't know yet if I've actually lost any work, but it is worrisome to find a dead flash drive. So far my other back up drive seems to be working somewhat well... Hopefully I can get to the point of having two drives that I keep up to date with all my work.
I have things to do this fine labor day so I'll get off the computer.... :D

The Unfinished...

Sadly to say, I don't know how to write the middle of stories very well. I don't know how to write the climax as well. That means I have a lot of unfinished work sitting around... How do you go from OH GOD I NEED TO CHANGE to all the work (that is boring yet necessary) to OH MY I LOVE MY NEW LIFE, convincingly? I seem to have missed the mark in a lot of places and left myself written into a corner that I really can't resolve in the case of It's A Helluva Job and I think that the conclusion in On Dog Creek is so weak that I'm often embarrassed to have put it before the public...
Anyway, don't expect much new from me at the moment.
