2 chapters in one week.

Well, as I say, there's another chapter of A Woman Warrior for everyone to enjoy or hate on, take your pick. I finished some additional writing a bit faster than expected and figured I'd offer up another present. Its not perfect, but I hope that its a good tease and good fun to read.

That said, please, please do not expect this publication rate to continue. The truth is that I'm writing to eat up time for now, but I do need to look at writing for money. And while I'd like to think that readers here enjoy my tales. Nothing I publish here can make me any money in the long run. They are not and will never be eligible for publication via Amazon.

So, that is the reason I don't want people to expect quick turn-arounds. Right now, until I figure out my employment situation, my plan is to work on 3-4 different projects. One is already starting to go up on both Royal Road and on my Patreon. The version on Royal Road will be published at a rate of 1 chapter a week for now, hopefully improving over time. The one on my Patreon will be several chapters ahead, but those will not be free chapters, sorry for those who can't afford to support the work. The next book I'm working on is the third and probably final book in the Living Dungeon Series (but perhaps not the last book in the universe). I've actually dabbled in completing it for years and will now be diving into finally getting it ready for publication. A few early chapters will be on Patreon, but not the whole book.

Finally, I'm deciding on 1 book to publish on Patreon in its entirety. I just haven't decided which of the too many half-started and nebulous ideas to work on.

And for those worrying. Once I finish A Woman Warrior, I'm going to work on a parallel story that includes characters riding on the same colony transport as Tanya Walker. However, in order to ensure that I can pay attention to my works, I won't add it to the rotation of stories that I'm actively working on. Its already going to be hard to stay focused and keep writing.

And as always, I do enjoy feedback and will try to respond if you send any, here, on Patreon, on Royal Road, etc. I may be a bit slow on Facecrook, but I don't visit my page there often right now. That could change if I end up in an extended period where I live off my writing.

Slow, but steady progress

I just submitted Woman Warrior chapter 22 to be posted and I'm working on getting more chapters written. The last bit of writing is actually a lot of fun, even though I am not fully focused on writing at this time. I also have just too many stories to work on. My goal right now is to get a new story, tentatively titled "Unwillingly to a New World" posted via Royal Road. Chapter 1 can now be found there under my Allan Joyal pen name, or if you are willing to visit Patreon, chapters 1 and 2 are there. I expect that eventually I'll be 5 or more chapters ahead on Patreon.

I also expect to post another story on Patreon, but I'm debating which one to post. I have a sci-fi adventure about a young man who stumbles into a secret facility used to train special fighter pilots. The organization is all about protecting the weak and helpless. Could our new friend be the one to lead them out of the shadows? I'm not sure I know, but the origin story (book 1) was fun to work on. I could post that.

Or I could post the story of a different young man approached on Earth about working for aliens. Turns out they want to purchase an empty mall and turn it into a inter-dimensional teleport nexus with the young man in charge. As you can imagine, just getting it established and opened requires diplomatic skills the young man was surprised to need. But it may just turn out well in the end.

But those are the finished stories. I have unfinished ones that might be fun to work on through posts.

Just keep reading and enjoying and as always, don't be afraid to send messages no matter where you read my stories. I truly do enjoy engaging with my readers.

Some Patreon bad news

Turns out that my Patreon account doesn't allow for "spicy" content, and right now upgrading it is not high on my list of priorities. So the parallel story to Woman Warrior won't get posted there as I planned. I'm still deciding what other tales to start previewing there.

More Woman Warrior, and other news

I finished a chapter of Woman Warrior quicker than I expected so I thought I'd be generous and post it for everyone to read. I hope it turns into something everyone enjoys.

Meanwhile, I plan on posting my parallel story to this one, a story I've called "Teach me to Fight" on my Patreon initially. Expect the first chapter to go up tonight or maybe tomorrow. I also want to get a story that will be purely for Patreon going in the near future. Although any story posted on Patreon will be taken down when I'm ready to publish it via Amazon. (There are rules regarding royalty payments that make it so that pulling a story and only having Amazon host the full version pays almost twice as much.)

I have not published the first chapter of my tale on Royal Road, but will likely try to finish setting that up today. Their system and my e-mail provider apparently did not see eye-to-eye and getting my account authenticated so I could post took a couple of days.

Also, I am trying to respond more to comments here and on any other site. I know I've been less than successful at keeping up with everyone at times, but I do enjoy chatting and such.

Have a fun filled day.

I may start posting more.... it depends

Well, live takes some strange turns. People who have followed my occasional flurries of posts have likely figured out that I tend to resume posting when certain events in my real life give me more time to write and reason to try to get back into something I enjoy, but which I fear won't pay my bills, so once my life path gets jumped to a new track I tend to pull back on posting due to a lack of time to post.

Which any reader might guess means, my life has taken another turn and it looks like I'll have more time to write in the near future. Now I'm not going to throw all my writing time into working on Swarm Cycle stories. I do enjoy them, but they cannot be monetized through Amazon due to the subject matter. So while I do want to try to write a chapter every 7-10 days and to continue to add to my portion of the Swarm Cycle universe, I expect that I'll be posting additional, less racy stories elsewhere.

Those locations will be on my Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/c/user?u=7301980 Here I will be posting chapters of my third book in the Living Dungeon series as well as initial chapters of other stories that I have been working on. Feedback will be encouraged there.

Royal Road will also soon host at least one story. Its a new Isekai tale that would play more to a "slice-of-life" motif than a heavy action or harem tale. To be honest, right now I don't see a female love interest for my main character in the early part of the narrative. Not that it won't happen (I'd be willing to bet money that I'll find a way to add one in eventually - and no, don't bet me, I'm the author, I can definitely make it happen in a story that I'm working on. )

And once I have an allowable story finished, it will end up on Amazon for anyone to purchase. I actually have a couple of book 1 tales that I could post today, but I'd like to know that book 2 is near finished before I take the time to post a book 1.

And for those wondering about my Swarm Cycle stories. Right now the order I'll work on them will be.

A Woman Warrior - to completion, probably 30-40 more chapters.
Teach me to Fight - a story that in timeline parallels A Woman Warrior, but follows characters that end up at Kelor. No estimate on number of chapters
Striding into a CAP-Based Life - third story of Mark Parker and his family and friends. Its mostly a faint idea at the moment, might be split attention
Life on Ishtar - short chapters and tales about all of the merry band of misfits living on Ishtar, not just concentrating on the family of James Rabb.
... and I have more ideas, but they are just notes so far.

Hope that you'll be looking forward to my work in the future.
