Chester Middlesex gets a second chance at life after death but with quite a few conditions attached. Transported to the late Stone Age, he must survive in an unfamiliar world with his wits as his only assets. Will he adapt fast enough to thrive, or will the brutal new reality trump modern knowledge? This story was abandoned in favor of the rewrite, but is saved for historical reasons.
