Before Elias Venter ever set foot in the old shopping center, something had already begun beneath it. What looked like a failed commercial property on the edge of decline becomes, in Elias’s hands, something entirely different: a private fortress of walls, gates, surveillance, and silence. Rich beyond public understanding, disciplined, private, and impossible to move once his mind is set, Elias does not buy the building as an investment. He claims it as territory.
