It being shark week, Emma insisted they had an obligation to visit the shore. “You can wear the new swimming trunks I got for you,” she told Daniel.
The day was rather drab, but the rolling crash and splash of the sea was splendid. “Good shark weather, huh?” Emma asked. “Shall we take a dip?”
Daniel wasn’t sure that was a good idea. “Might not this school of sharks on my spiffy new suit attract them? And the color—does it resemble blood?”
“Too much lure and luridity?” Emma speculated. “I guess you could take it off if...”
Daniel looked around.
“Don’t worry, no one here but us,” Emma reassured him. “Not even any beach bums, unless you consider a sandpiper’s view of my ass, “But it would be a shame not to give your new suit a test swim. It’s so bright and sleek. How does it feel?”
Before Daniel could answer, Emma fingered the fabric. “Mmm, nice,” she declared. “Admirably stretchy.” She continued caressing the freshening bulge at the front of Daniel’s swimsuit.
“Kind of cute, these sharks,” she observed. “Do you think they like nuts?”
Before Daniel could answer, Emma, noticing the results of her handiwork, said, “My, my, what have we here? Could it be a porpoise? Such a cute little slit of a mouth he has. Such a sweet smile. Oh oh, it looks like he’s going to blow a bubble.
