Damn, Damn, why now. Damn. I felt the passenger type pulling on the steering column funny, so I pulled over to the side of the country road. A lot of other traffic passed as I waited to get out still cursing. Finally opening my door I found the front tyre flat with a screw in the thread. I was going to be late. I rang dad and explained I would be late. He did not believe me as he knew I did not really want to go out to my sister’s dinner party. I did not like her choice of boyfriend and had voiced it. So I took a picture of the tyre and the screw implanted to both my sister and dad. Maybe they would now believe me.

I took off my clean white shirt, placing it carefully on the back seat, collected the spare tyre from the boot together with the tools when the property owner came out demanding to know why I am parked in his house parking spot?

Was I in the mood for his bulling and foolish ways, No. I pointed out to my flat tyre and advised “Got a flat, just changing it mate?”

He did not like me calling him Boyo, A Welsh term for a male child. “I’m calling the police on you.” and walked back inside his house waddling like a penguin.

I don’t know how he did it but I had just taken off the nuts holding the wheel when the police turned up. He asked “Upsetting the owner inside?” The way he spoke it was not the first time this had occurred. I showed him my flat tyre with the screw still inside, he nodded, “Did he tell you to move away?”
I replied “Yes stupid old man, I did call him Boyo though and he really did get upset. The police officers laughed. “I also mentioned he does not own the road or council strip and I would not move. I did stand up and yes I towered over it.” They smiled and returned to their vehicle, driving off waving at me. Damn they could have helped.

Finishing replacing the tyre, I stood and bent my back to stretch when this Benz drove into the driveway. The ladies stopped, both got out and asked “Any problems?”
