It was the first time since my wife had run off with another man that I had ventured out to face people in a purely social situation. Dan and Diana had been friends for years and they had been working hard to get me to come out of the shell I had crawled into when Cindy had left me. The occasion was Dan's birthday and Diana just would not take no for an answer.
Cindy and I had been married twenty-one years and had raised three great kids and when the last one went off to college I looked forward to a life with no one to get in the way of Cindy and me renewing the passionate love affair that had disappeared when the kids came along. Cindy had other ideas as I found when I came home from work one night and found a note on the kitchen table.
"Brad, I took half the money in savings and cashed in one of the CD's. I'm out of here. Cindy."
I found out later that she had run off with another woman's husband. That had been eighteen months ago and no one had heard from either of them since.
In addition to being crushed by her abandonment I had trouble with the law. Cindy's parents, when they hadn't heard from her, called the police and accused me of killing her and of disposing of the body. I was hauled down to the police station several times, twice in handcuffs, and interrogated. The cops took her note and had the handwriting analyzed, they interviewed the people at the bank that had given her the money from savings and the cashed out certificate of deposit, but it wasn't until a women named Clara Moore came forward and told them that Cindy had run off with her husband that they final got off my case. The kids were so outraged at what grandma and grandpa had done to me that they refused to have anything more to do with them. In a nice bit of irony Cindy's folks called me and pleaded with me to try and help them get their grand children back. I hung up on them.
The party was fun and I was having a good time. I didn't see any of the pity that I had expected to see in the eyes of friends and acquaintances. As I moved around and socialized I noticed that Diana was never very far away, she seemed to be hovering like a protective mother hen. About an hour into the party a poker game broke out down in the basement and I went down and sat in. Minute's later Diana came down and handed me a fresh drink and then stood behind me watching the game. When my glass was almost empty she reached over me and picked it up and went to get me a refill. One of the guys asked me how come I rated the personal attention and I surprised myself by being able to joke about it.
"After the train wreck it took her over a year to talk me into coming out of the house. I think she is standing by to tackle me if I try to run home."
When Diana came back she leaned over me to put the drink on the table and I felt her tits press into my back. It might have just been my imagination, but I thought that the contact lasted a lot longer than it should have and it did give me an erection.
I played for about two hours and during that time Diana wandered away and came back a half a dozen times and it seemed like every time she stood behind me I won. I know that it was a coincidence but one of the other players noticed it too and commented on it.
"No fair Diana. We are all your guests and you shouldn't be giving Brad all the luck."
Diana leaned down and whispered in my ear, "How about it sweetie, am I your good luck charm?"
The hot breathy way she said it and the way she seemed to blow the words into my ear gave me another woodie.
When it was time for me to leave I hit the bathroom before going around and saying my good-byes and when I came out I found Diana waiting outside in the hall. I thought she was waiting to use the bathroom, but when I stepped aside to let her in she followed me. She stepped up to me, put her arms around me and kissed me. I felt her tongue push past my lips and for a brief second I responded and returned the kiss and then I remembered who she was and where I was and I stepped back breaking the embrace. I'm sure my face was flushed and not only because of the kiss. I was painfully aware of my erection and of the fact that she had to be aware of it too because she had been so tightly against me.
She smiled, "I'm so glad you came tonight Brad." Then she leaned forward and kissed me again on the cheek. "Don't forget sweetie, I'm your good luck charm. Call me" and then she walked away to say goodbye to her other departing guests.
Two weeks went by and then one night about seven the doorbell rang and when I answered it I found Diana standing there. "You didn't call so I thought that I would just come over here."
I stepped aside so she could come in and then I followed her into the living room. She sat down on the couch, smiled at me and said, "Have you figured it out yet sweetie?" She read the confusion on my face. "No? Well let me lay it out for you. I know you haven't been laid since Cindy left and I want to be your first."
I was stunned and for several seconds I just sat there and stared at her.
"Oh come on Brad, I saw you get a hard on when I pushed my tits into your back during the game and I felt it when you came out of the bathroom and I kissed you."
"But you are Dan's wife and even if I wanted to I couldn't do that to a friend."
"Why not? He did it to you."
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is that Dan had been fucking Cindy for a couple of years."
"I don't believe that."
"Believe it sweetie. I caught them in the act. I walked into my bedroom one day and found him with his cock in her ass. I saw them with my own two eyes."
"No, she wouldn't have."
"Sweetie, I know that you were madly in love with her, so much so that you were blinded to what she was doing. Cindy was a slut Brad, and she fucked damn near every friend that you had. She started fucking around on you six months after you were married and was still fucking around on you the day she ran away. Nobody could bring themselves to tell you because you were so hung up on her that you wouldn't have believed them anyway."
"No Diana, no. I know she left me, but she wasn't that way. I know it, I just know it."
"You poor sap, you still love her, don't you?"
The look on my face gave her the answer to that question and told her that she had scored a bull's eye. She sighed, "I'm sorry sweetie. I just wish somebody else could have done this to you and not me."
She got up, took videotape out of her purse and walked over and pushed it into the machine. I had been watching TV when the doorbell rang so all she had to do was hit play. She came over and sat down beside me, "I didn't really want to do it this way sweetie, but you have to put Cindy behind you."
