I have lost everything
riches and fame’s meant nothing to me and still do not
but love and family is what I held dear
I have lost everything
as time moves on some pieces will come back together
but I am broken never to be whole again

shattered man of my former self never to be a whole again
never gonna hold those I love dear close to me
never to have the things that I have lost that meant the world to me
my body is beaten and broken
my heart has been torn out of my chest and ripped and shredded and burned in front of me
six losses small as they may be in the micro scheme in cosmetics of everything
but huge and important in the microcosm of the cross section of my life
four losses of love to never be replaced or held again my mother most recent my father eight years ago my grandparents my grandfather and my grandmother two dogs that although they have not passed away will never be held by me again yes my body is broken and I could not take care of them So I say again I am broken
I am not allowed to grieve as people say it makes you sound suicidal
so I cannot grieve publicly but still privately
I grieved the loss of love ones that I can never hold again I grieved the loss of everything that was me I grieved the loss of everything that I was that I will never be again I grieve the fact that I’ve died and been reborn into a world without the love of those who have left me I am broken
never to be whole again

and it is OK to be broken
