The first chapters of the story have been sent to the Moderators for posting.
The new story opens with Grace fleeing in terror from pursuers in a snow storm where she has lost her way. She eventually finds a cabin and gains entry from the man there ... Owen. He helps her dry out and warm up.
After Grace changes her wet clothes, Owen explains how he too found the cabin the previous day after escaping pursuers. Later Grace makes supper with Owen's help. As they finish the meal, Owen has a question for her, "Do you know who you are named after?" Grace is confused by the question, and Owen explains about the original Grace O'Malley, "The Pirate Queen of Cannaught", but she has no knowledge of her.
After they prepare for bed, Owen brings up the most immediate problem -- the shortage of coal for the stove, and they discuss what can be done about it. Following that Grace confesses that she had worked for some people who owned three houses in the city that she had moved to on leaving Kentucky, and they they eventually forced her into prostitution and tells him how she was raped, used, and abused by both men and women. She had knocked the woman unconscious and fled, after she had been used by her, to lose her way in the storm.
After Grace recovers, Owen admits that he too is on the run, and explains his background and what happened. They eventually go to sleep, but sleep close together as it is cold in the cabin.
NOTES:
Grace and Owen is the lead in story for Magic Ink VII, and the characters from G&O as well as those from Magic VI will all appear in Magic VII.

I had previously been working on three stories at the same time, but started concentrating on Magic VII a week or so ago and have 7 chapters written. I have no idea when it will be finished and ready for posting.
Enjoy these two chapters. More next week at my regular posting time. I re-posted the 'Esther" story on Thursday, and waited till today to see how it would do.
