I hereby apologize if there were issues with anything that you downloaded when you got the entire book. I THOUGHT I had appropriately exported the HTML files so they were in good shape. Our wonderful webmaster dashed those hopes for me, and redid the MOBI file. I have no idea how to make links in the PDF file to each chapter - if someone knows, let me know, and I'll do that. I use Calibre and Sigil. I want to give you a perfectly formatted book - even if I am evil with the cliffhangers. I will continue to play with things during the summer, and will upload something with fixes and other stupid errors corrected as soon as I can. (University of Oregon - NOT Oregon State!)

Only 411,585 words long

Chapter 23 is now uploaded for Saturday. Book Four is now uploaded and waiting for moderation on Bookapy. It'll be the same $5.99 as Book Three. I do have it uploaded in EPUB, MOBI, and PDF format, and from my checking, all three are good files. You'll probably have to adjust your EBook reader, I went with Black for the text color through the whole thing.

Sigil told me it was a clean EPUB, although when I ran Flight Crew, it came up with this huge list of things that made absolutely no sense. The HTML was actually pretty clean, all things considered. I did MOBI instead of AZW3 for older Kindle readers. The PDF file was a little over 1,100 pages long, and the HTML TOC didn't seem to work on it, but that's because Calibre converted the HTML TOC from the EPUB, so it probably WON'T work. ETA: And Laz said my file was scrooged, so he fixed it. Dammit, I thought I had the EPUB correct.

As before, I know I'll end up getting more errors found, so this fall, I'll go through it, edit it, and reupload corrections. Oh, and one last thing. Before you get to the end of Chapter 30 - close your doors and windows, so your screaming at me for the cliffhanger won't disturb TOO many people.

You END book 4 with a cliffhanger? THAT'S DESPICABLE!

I'm waiting for the rest of my editors to get done with it before I put my final screw-ups into it, but Book Four is finally complete. Not quite two months later than I first thought, so I missed my first and second self-imposed deadlines, but it's still under budget! Oh, and Chapter 22 is up for Saturday morning, too.

Of course, at 44 pages long, the final chapter of Book Four isn't short. (It's just shy of 5,000 words longer than Chapter 21, for example, and that was 31 pages long the way I display things.) I'll get a final wordcount and such once I get it through Sigil and Calibre. The cover is already designed and ready to go, too. Of course, you as the readers will find errors that we've all missed, but that's just part and parcel of it.

As for this blog headline? That's what Jim7, who is my first editor, wrote back to me. He then wrote:

"I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLOL!!!!!!!!!"

Chapter 21 up for Saturday

I'm finally done moving, and I've actually gotten 14 pages written just since Monday, while also being back doing real estate. It's a scary thing to get back into the groove. About 3 - 4 hours per day organizing stuff, too. We effectively have the equivalent of a two car garage stuffed to the rafters with boxes and bins - so this'll be a while, but I feel like we're home now.

I even have all the equipment in my evil laser death ray room set up, although I'm still organizing it a bit. Yes, I really DO have an evil laser death ray, too. It's an Epilog 70 watt industrial grade laser that I use in our craft and engraving business. Sneaky person that I am, I actually MAKE my own closing gifts, which allows me to be nicer to my clients that simply purchasing something that's subject to the legal limit. (Yes, it's actually against the law in Oklahoma for us to give something expensive to our clients as a thank you for using us to buy a house. I refuse to discuss the appropriate tax implications for selling to myself.)

My wife and I also joke that we now have a maid and butler here. The entire house has wood look ceramic tile, so these ARE the droids you're looking for. We bought two Roombas, one to sweep every other day, the other to mop on the opposite days. With the hours we both work, it's quite amazing how clean the floor stays. And yes, I have them named R2D2 and C3PO.

On a final note - B flat. Oh, wait, that's not it. I want everyone to remember that Cal's Earth is not OUR Earth. So, if a political or famous figure doesn't exactly act like you think they should, or something isn't quite perfect... alternate universe. I'm bringing this up as a reminder, because things are getting exciting on a lot of fronts, and Cal's not the only one who has been having an issue with growing up.

Nothing serious - I simply got a character name wrong. Don't change first names in the middle of a chapter!
