Final chapter up for Against All Enemies

There've been so many romance movies and novels set against in wartime, I thought it'd be interesting to set one in an unconventional wartime setting - just postulating about how things COULD go, without saying this is how they SHOULD go. I did make sure that everything that is mentioned in this story was legally possible and correct, based upon the Constitution of the United States, Federal and State law, and the UMCJ. (Yes, that's right, I did my research and I DID consult with a legal expert on some of this in advance.)

It was interesting to see the knee jerk reactions, votes, and comments - how some people simply would NOT entertain an idea that was contrary to their thinking (programming?). It's FICTION, folks - not historical fact - even if the vote total differences mentioned ARE accurate. Thank you to everyone that sent me emails about it, and I'm not sorry I had to shut some of the comments down. I have no issues whatsoever with well reasoned and thoughtful discussions. Trolls can just go back under the bridge - while I do sometimes play Devil's Advocate in conversations, I specify first that's what I'm doing.

Oh, and if you haven't figured it out - I chose to write under this name because it's an amalgamation of two rather famous writers from history - John Jay and James Madison. They helped write this little document a lot of people never heard of or don't understand, especially those who think it gives us rights - the Constitution of the United States of America. It doesn't - it's there to restrict the government from taking our rights away. That's why our oath is to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States Against All Enemies, foreign and domestic.

Would you believe it's a romantic love story?

Read it and judge it based upon its own merits and how well it's written, not upon your visceral gut reactions to the scenario itself. You may not have noticed, but the world itself is a complicated place, and people can and do have opinions that differ from yours. An early and hasty judgement based upon your own prejudices is often wrong.

In other words, this is a love story, not a stroke story, set in a future that hopefully won't happen, but otherwise is similar to every other love story set during a war. Now, anyone care to revisit their scores, because you're ashamed you rushed to judgement?
