Thanks to everyone who responded regarding the problem with the story "Spellcheck." I came back and re-posted from the original file, so let's hope it works all the way when that goes through.
Thanks to those of you who have written in support of my stories, in case I forgot to click the email address link in the email instead of replying out of habit.
Lots of people have written in wondering why it takes me so long to update certain things. Some of the letters have been nice, others...not so nice. In the interests of making sure that as little time gets wasted as possible, I'm posting my reasons here:
#1. I want to put a little more into each story than "Guy meets girl, guy controls girl, guy fucks girl, the end." I've done some of those, too, but they're not my favorites, and judging from my email box, they're not anybody else's favorites either.
#2. This is a HOBBY, as in, something I do in my spare time. Spare time varies, especially when my nephew visits for the entire freaking summer.
#3. I can only work as quickly as my inspiration will allow. If I try to force something, it shows, and never in a good way.
#4. Occasionally, like when I have a really major plot twist, I ask for beta-readers to give me an idea of how well it was executed. Occasionally (like with the last chapter of Zak's Gift), someone will accept, then go on vacation or otherwise not respond back for a month or more after I send the story. Sometimes all I get is "ZOMG J00 R00LZ!!" or "HOLY CRAP THAT SUXX!" or something to that effect, with no elaboration on what I did right or wrong, where I can improve, or what.
#5. I have a touch of ADHD, so even if I do get a lot of time to write all at once, sometimes I'll do a little on one story, then a little on another story, then a little on yet another story, then I'll get inspired and do a completely new story all in one go except for the ending, then I'll get burned out and play video games for a bit, then come back and do some more on the first story while listening to a 600-song playlist set on "random," and then... Yeah. ADHD.
All I can say is, have patience. Hopefully I'll get some of these finished eventually.^_^
On a side note, do we really need three different tags for italics and two for bold?

I mean, really...
Why do I only notice these things AFTER I post the story?
As seen in Backlash, I stupidly had Amelie O'Fae being called O'Hare for some reason around the beginning of Chapter II, and somehow I got Hilda renamed Heidi between chapters II and III. Lucky SOL has an option to repost a chapter when I make an oops like that.
Well, maybe it's my problem. In trying to manage my universes and stories, I'm having trouble finding the option to move an existing story into a universe I've created here on the site. According to the help section, I'm supposed to do it that way, but the only place I can see to put a story into a universe is the story-creation page where I post NEW stories. It doesn't seem to appear on the story management/edit stories section.
Oh, well. My antivirus is about to start, and it's a real core-hog so I have to sign off. Peace!
