I've just re-submitted all chapters for Free Magus to be updated. Mostly small stuff, but there were corrections in every chapter.

I have plans for the remaining chapters in this story. True, Free Magus will have less chapters than most of the stories I've written in this series so far, but I believe those chapters are all larger than most of the chapters in those other stories. In fact, my current plans only add about nine more chapters (ending on chapter 21). Of course, something in those chapters may change that count, possibly extending it.

The real news is, unlike Free Magus, which had almost no planning when I started, the next story already has a title and plans for possibly more content than any one story should be able to handle. Hopefully, the rest of the books I have planned for the series will see the same sort of pre-planning as Book 7. Yes, I'm keeping the title a secret for now. I want to make sure Free Magus ends the way it is meant to end.

Currently, I am unemployed again. My Car was repossessed, and my only means of getting online is via phone hotspot. I really believe a job I can work from home would answer my problems, but the 'lack of internet' thing throws a wrench in that. I afraid the way to take care of my problems is to find a job that I don't like close by. Use the pay to get internet. Use the internet to find an online job. And, finally, get a car.

I'm perfectly willing to accept suggestions. For the online job, I was hoping to get into frontend web development. The thing slowing me down is show-casing what I can do. It's one thing to put together web-pages on my computer, but soemthing else entirely getting those pages uploaded to a server and making them work there. Suggestions on this would be fantabulous!

Back to the stories...

For those who don't know - and that could be everyone - I have seven more stories planned for this series (books 7 through 13). Frag it. I'll even give general descriptions here as to what each book is about...

BOOK 7
STORY DATE: Jan 2012 (Shortly after Free Magus)
SOL DESCRIPTION: Seth returns home to rebuild and reconnect with his girls, but his House is in turmoil. A loyal member of his House informs him of a planned coup, but she doesn't know any real details. The motive is clear, however: they feel Seth is too young, too inexperienced to be a House Lord. Seth sets out to route this insurrection while catching up with his girls. But will he succeed when the source of the coup seems to know all the moves and is far better at playing the game?

BOOK 8
STORY DATE: Mar 2012 (Spring Break)
SOL DESCRIPTION: Seth receives an invitation to Orlando, Florida for Spring Break. Everyone encourages him to go, but he refuses to go alone. Nothing seems to go right for the young House Lord as the Syndicate attack many popular party locations around Orlando. Simply avoiding them seems to be the best option, but Seth has a focused hate group, thos who believe as Ricardo did, chase him specifically trying to kill off he who would destroy all magic.
ASK READERS: Which of Seth's Fonti and Stirpi should go on the trip? Let's keep this sensible: no more than 4 Fonti and 2 Stirpi.

BOOK 9
STORY DATE: May 2012 (End of Semester)
SOL DESCRIPTION: End of semester parties are put on hold when Valory shows up out of nowhere, asking Seth for the Locket and the Key. She claims to know what the Locket holds and insists Seth give it to her. Not sure how much he can trust his half-sister, Seth defends the contents, refusing to hand over the items. But will he succeed when Valory goes so far as to force him to unlock it for her?

BOOK 10
STORY DATE: July 2012 (Independence Day)
SOL DESCRIPTION: Dallas is suddenly filled with Magi Sheriffs and Rangers. The Council will be holding their quarterly summit in town. They're not the only ones to arrive. Walker and a team of Guild members have shown up to shut down the council, permanently. Seth is asked to stay out of the way, but can he really stand by and allow Walker to kill other Magi?

BOOK 11
STORY DATE: Sept 2012 (Starting New Semester)
SOL DESCRIPTION: A new technological wonder has hit the market. Seth and his girls each buy one, but they quickly learn that they are actually a beacon for the location of nearby Magi. The Syndicate returns and their magical support is finally revealed. Can Seth get word out to the right people to save hundreds, if not thousands of Magi?

STORY DATE: Oct 2012 (Around Halloween -- again)
SOL DESCRIPTION: Seth meets a trio of Magi. They know the secret to his mark, but to find out, Seth must do something for them first.

BOOK 13
STORY DATE: Dec 2012 (Winter Solstice)
SOL DESCRIPTION: Valory and The Group of Magi who saved her return to Texas. They want the secrets from the Locket that Valory did not receive. They’re willing to do anything to get that knowledge, including kill those closest to Seth to force his hand. Seth agrees to help them, but cannot reveal those secrets, so he ends up being forced to cooperate in their efforts to end the world as everyone knows it.

... and that is everything I have planned. Yes, I know this is a lot, and it could take some time for me to get through all of this what with my track record for posting chapters in stories. But, this is the goal. To see all of this through.

So, as you can see, every book (except the last one) has something I want to ask of you, my readers. Well, I believe this is it. I believe I will finally finish this story this year. Yes, you heard it hear. I will finish this story, this year.

Now, that being said, I have growing plans both for the characters I've developed in all of the previous stories as well as a number of new characters for everyone to meet.

I know Free Magus has been slow in posts - exceedingly slow. Most of this has been due to work and a lack of a place to write. Oddly, my current job has provided the latter. Hopefully, this year, I'll be able to get myself a desk, a chair, and put together a new desktop system. I like having a laptop, but I so prefer to have a desktop system on which to do things.

I've posted a new chapter, and like always, the next three chapters are available on my p@tr30n site for those who subscribe. Yes, I've completed chapter 13 and am working on 14. I find it oddly satisfying to come up with more in-depth descriptions for each chapter so that I knew what will happen in them rather than simple ideas that only helps with overall planning. These deeper descriptions give me far more direction and help me focus on the path of the story. So, hopefully, this story won't end up feeling like a disjointed collection of scenes and more like a roller coaster of imagery and sensations - mixed with something cohesive.

And if that last paragraph makes sense, then I'm doing better than I thought.

And with that, I present a new chapter for Free Magus. I fail to recall where my personal stories ended and I haven't bothered looking into my last blogs, so...

So, new chapter. Chapter 8 to be correct. Chapters 9 through 11 are available on my Patreon account.

I'm about half finished with chapter 12 and have fairly solid plans for the next few chapters after that. Unfortunately, the rest of the book is only a vague outline. That will change as these chapters evolve.

Damn. It feels a lot like when I wrote my first story. A lot of by-the-seat-of-my-pants writing.

Really funny part is, I get more writing done at work, saving the files on my google drive, than anything I get done at home anymore.

Hopefully, I'll get another chapter done before New Years. Not the whole story, but more of it.

Hey all.

I know it has been several months. My last job literally left me too tired day in and day out to do much more than think. Finding time to write was out of the question.

That ended last August, when I tested positive for Covid.

Well, not exactly. Members of my family came down with it first. I got it a week later. By the time I was supposed to go back to work, I had put together a new resume and sent it out to every place that popped up which might offer a job for which I qualified.

I landed one, and I feel very lucky for it. Not only am I doing something I know, but it is offering me time to do something else I enjoy: write.

Very soon, I will be posting more chapters.

Chapter 6 has been submitted for posting!

I will be working on the next chapter this weekend while I have specific things in my head and don't want to go another six months for the next post!!!
