There will be a time lapse before the next story. I have begun writing it but it is not progressing rapidly. Actually I have begun four stories but each has not matured in my head to beat it out yet.
I have a bunch (over 400) emails for corrections to past stories so will spend some time getting caught up on those.
I'll probably post a couple of short stories over the next couple of weeks/months before I get the next story in editing.
Thank you to all who read my stuff.
This is a bunch of FYI stuff.
The story took a year to write and ten months to edit and post.
The total word count is 508,899 with an average chapter size of 8077 words. The shortest chapter (12)was 6205 words and the longest (33) was 12,539.
The original outline for this story had it ending around chapter 40 but more suggestions and ideas perpetuated the story for a little longer.
There will probably be a sequel in the future as I've continued some notes for the story. It will not happen soon.
For those who stuck with the long story to the end, thanks. I had fun writing it.
Remember this?
Primary Editing by Pepere
Proofing and Continuity by Sagacious
Helicopter and Legal Guru, Rotorhead
Thorsten Thoroughly Thrusts Thru
Last one through - Deenara2000
These folks have had a tumultuous and busy time for this past year.
Pepere has retired but in the process has had to learn how to shovel multiple feet of snow.
Rotorhead has been a world traveler for both fun and his occupation.
Sagacious has struggled with a wife that has health problems but is now back in decent condition.
Thorsten had a double problem as his wife has given birth to twins (fraternal) that despite her small size, the kids were large enough to walk from the delivery room.
Deenara2000 lost her father this past year and has been unable to continue to help.
Amazing how these folks helped up to the last minute they could.
There is another guy who goes over the stories after Pepere but doesn't wish to be recognized. I'm going to say good things about him anyway as he has constantly offered suggestions throughout stories over the last few years.
All of these people have worked with me for "FREE". That is even more amazing.
I also wish to recognize the "EAP" folks. (Editor After Posting) for sending items I missed.
Thank you to all those who helped make the story better.
What is funny is that I'm spending as much time as possible out on the gulf. (That is the deep water west of Clearwater) I've been out for better than a week but have kept coming in to manipulate Robin's stuff and to answer emails. If I send you a flamboyant email, suck it up, as I'm having a great time.
Today's waters have been great and tempting to sail westward toward Texas. I won't do that as I have a lot of customers that want help. The guys that still work for me for their wizardly wages want to keep working so I have to stick around.
Do you know that I'm living off some very tasty Grouper and Amberjack? Ha, ha, I'm doin' really good except I'm running out of beer. My boat does not go anywhere without beer. (I'm negotiating and working on a gulf delivery of a couple of cases.)
Everyone, kick back, light a fat smelly cigar and consider how ecstatic I am right now. I promise to come in close to make sure I can get tomorrow's post in.
Enjoy, everyone, I am.
Hope you like this one. It is a peaceful story about the characters of that part of the country. Life in the Kentucky mountains is not the easiest but not horribly hurried as it is in cities. This is not a real sexy story but something about relocating and succeeding.
