Take one part "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and one part space opera, throw in Dragon Cobolt's quirky yet captivating storytelling and you have a great ride. Another world I'd love to see explored upon in follow-up stories.
A great story by Shaddoth, with an entire world crafted I can't wait to see explored. Shad has focused more on the Smith line of stories recently, but please join me and other readers eagerly waiting for the promised stories to come in this world.
If you're new to this collection of stories than I'm very envious. Al Steiner created a world combining the aftereffects of WWIII and the colonization of Mars. Greenies is the best place to start, and other authors like rlfj have kept it still going.
I'll admit I wasn't quick to pick this one up, but it's one of those stories where you won't put it down until it's done. It's our universe, in the future, fighting a war with aliens, but that does so little to explain this gem.
Shad has created a world that is very close to ours, but with old gods and futuristic technology. He has written a number of stories that add on to this world, all with the same level of literary accomplishment.
