Chapter 18: In Trouble Again

When I went to sleep. I thought I was going to be awoken by Mary crying out in pain. Instead, Kelly woke me up and then starting into a downright unexpected rant. I was so sound asleep when she started that it was a good few minutes before I woke up enough to realize it wasn’t a dream.

“ ... What the hell is your problem, David? Can’t you go a few more days doing without getting your dick inside a girl? I mean, I am cool with Emily. How could I not be? Sure, I get the crazy fake Valley Girl to do in PT. No way could you keep from getting hard, and she was going to find a way to get it inside her since you two got paired up for a group therapy session. But that nympho zombie down the hall? Really? A sprinkle of rain is all it takes to have her humping anything she can get between her legs. Sure I would have bought that you wandered near her room during the storm and she drug you into her room,” Kelly said as she raised her voice even more now that she saw I was awake. “I mean come on already, David! Spanking it three times a day now and then screwing Mary so hard it ruptured her appendix wasn’t enough for you? Are you going to start trolling the other patient rooms to see how many other girls you can nail in a day? I am so fucking mad...”

She had not seen the old black nurse from last night come in. Plus there was no way I could get a word in edgewise anyway.

You sure stepped in it big time Kelly!

Grabbing onto Kelly’s shoulders, the old nurse spun Kelly around, so she was looking Kelly in the eyes and said, “Girl! I ought to beat your bare little round bottom till you can’t sit down for a week or I could get your mom so she can do it. Now, what in the heck has gotten into you? Why are you going off on David with such venom like a raving lunatic? I am of a mind to using soap out that dirty little mouth yours. With that attitude girl, you will be right lucky if David will ever talk to you again. You may as well go on and forget him wanting any of your charms now girl. We all know he sure is real good at ignoring everyone when he wants them to go away.”

Kelly started sputtering and trying to explain with lots of, “but I was just” to the nurse.

She isn’t buying one bit of it, Kelly. If looks could kill you would already be on a slab in the morgue.

Kelly quickly turned back to me before she jumped on the bed to bury her head in my chest. She was apologizing whenever she wasn’t crying too hard to get words out. Kelly told me all about how Kelly overheard the night nurse on the phone, talking to her mom this morning. She rode her bike to the nearest bus stop and then got to the hospital to tear into me as a joke. At least it started that way. Somewhere along the line, she got mad.

I don’t care if it was to be a joke that went wrong. You woke up Mary with you screaming at me!

I was mad at her now.

“Kelly that was uncalled for and damn mean! Kids were pulling that crap on me a lot when I was little. I bet it was as big a part of me starting to ignore everyone as no one coming to my birthday party at the skating rink. Just like everyone else, I hate getting chewed out for doing something dumb. If I had done something that made you pissed off at me then I would have to take you bitching me out like you were doing,” I told her angrily. “Last night I didn’t get sedated because the storm was supposed to miss us. By the time it changed directions they only had one nurse working, and she was too busy to do it. I happened to be in the dayroom watching the storm moving in when I heard Helen whimpering after each clap of thunder. The nurse wasn’t at the nurse’s station, so I went to see if the kid was ok. It turned out she wasn’t ok and needed someone to hold her during the storm. I know how to do that. We didn’t do anything, as if it was any of your business anyway. Ask Helen for details! I didn’t even know she was off somewhere in her mind. To me, she was just another kid here at the hospital who was scared shitless by the storm. When she came back from wherever she had lost herself in her mind, she found herself sitting in my lap. She was pretty much naked and horny. I almost got my head knocked off! She then accused me of being gay because I didn’t have wood with a naked girl inches away from me. Before you even think of going off on me again, even as a joke, you better make sure you have your facts right Kelly. Now I would appreciate it if you could please leave. I am angry at you because your yelling woke Mary up. She needs her rest to recover from her surgery.”
