A list of characters in "An Unknown Attraction". This is meant as a reference only, to be checked any time you encounter a character you don't recognize. Reading ahead may spoil story surprises and is not recommended.

Let me know if you spot any errors and I'll fix them. I'm also open to suggestions on how to improve it.

Family:

Alex Jennings: The story's protagonist, a 17-year-old boy.

Becky Jennings: Alex's eldest sister, a 22-year-old nurse.

Cate Jennings: Alex's youngest sister and confidant, a 16-year-old high school student.

Frank Jennings: Alex's father, a 45-year-old office worker.

Linda Jennings: The 42-year-old mother of Alex and Cate. A stay-at-home mother whose kids are finally about to flee the house...

Melinda Jennings:: Alex and Cate's 21-years-old middle sister. Currently attending college at SIU.

Alex's 'Girls':

Allison Livermore: A professional escort (first seen in the original Prologue) working with the higher echelon New Orleans elite.

Anh Ngo: Older Vietnamese immigrant drawn to Alex but who speaks virtually no English. Becomes Alex's 'spiritual advisor'.

Natalie Mendoza: A 28-year-old hotel employee and the first 'watcher' that Alex adopted. He pulled her into his group to illustrate to his parents just what he was having to deal with.

Patricia Moore: A 28-year-old jazz/blues singer who traditionally tours the south. Currently in New Orleans.

Shaniqua (Shani) Sharp: Alex's first activation. A 24-year-old Jamaican-American Human Resources manager who discovers Alex, and whose life is forever changed.

Brooke Knowles: Alex's 5th activation. A 37 year old emergency medical technician (EMT) in New Orleans.

Rebecca Boles: Another of Alex's adopted 'watchers'. She was a nurse at the New Orleans hospital Alex went to when he revived a man suffering from a heart attack.

Others:

Albert Rodriguez: A New Orleans' Times-Picayune Newspaper Reporter. Wrote some snarky articles about Alex which cast him in an unfavorable light and attracted unwanted media attention.

Amanda Petes: Wife and mother who encounters Alex before anyone else on the road.

Amy Petes: Amanda Petes' teenaged daughter.

Anthony: Unnamed client of Amber Blossom's.

Bao Luong: Anh Ngo's adult son, a fisherman in Biloxi, Mississippi. Father of Victoria.

Clark Straus: Brooke Knowles' EMT partner and long time friend.

Darice Chavira: A Hispanic-American 'Watcher'. One of the 3 leaders of the New Orleans' 'Watcher' movement.

David Samuels: One of the 3 leaders of the New Orleans' 'Watcher' movement.

Donna: Student celebrating spring break, attracted to Alex but afraid to approach him.

Henry: An unidentified hotel desk clerk that Amber Blossom used in her profession.

Henry Dunn: Patricia Moore's one time boyfriend/manager. 32-years-old.

John Petes: Amanda Petes' understanding husband.

Lisa Turner: Girl Alex dated the previous year.

Melissa Ryder: Girl Alex dated as a HS freshman.

Nancy: Waitress at Patricia's club who watches out for Alex and his family.

Oliver: The doorman at Patricia's nightclub.

Paul Sinclair: Policeman helping assist the heart attack victim in downtown New Orleans.

Peter Knowles: Brooke Knowles 11-year-old son.

Peter Hammond: A New Orleans barrista and an oddity for Alex and Cate, a male 'Watcher'. Is now one of the 3 leaders of the New Orleans 'Watcher' movement.

Steve McCullough: An older man who'd suffered a heart attack and whom Alex revives with Brooke Knowles assistance.

Susan Baker: Woman moving to Texas who just misses Alex when she arrives at a McDonald's moments too late.

Susan (Suzy) Knowles: Brooke's 9-years-old youngest daughter, Alex's youngest 'Watcher'.

Tony (no last name): An unspecified client of Amber's.

Victoria (Vicky) Luong: Anh Ngo's granddaughter, an 11-year-old grade school student. Translated for Anh when she first met Alex. Was the one who called him when Anh was thrown out of the house by her father, Bao.
