Running Away

Author's Notes: This story has been rolling around in my brain for some time now. I'm not sure what category it is in; let alone how to code it. I suspect it is more a coming of age story without the sex, but it is more than that. It is the story of a young man having to fend for himself in a cruel world, and with determination and intestinal fortitude, he comes out on top, but not before he struggles with his identity and his love for his family. This has been very difficult, because this in some ways reflects some of the early years of my own life. I left home at eighteen and joined the service to get away from an abusive family life. I wandered in and out of real life for several years before I found something good. I found a woman who, although most people would say was unattractive, turned out to be my salvation. I may write that story sometime later.
