Foreword
A reader who goes by Susan wrote to me a while back and presented a challenge. She imagined a man and woman meeting who did not speak the same language, and yet had to spend a lot of time together doing something or other. How would they interact? How would they communicate? What if they developed feelings for each other? I reflected on that, and thought up a number of different scenarios that matched her challenge. Here is one of them.
