For those who like to read a dustcover, even if it contains spoilers. For those who don't you should skip to Chapter 1.
Sadly, this page is not fiction. However, it's so unbelievable, you might think it so.
In 1977, John P Holdren co-authored a book with colleagues Paul & Anne Ehrlich, entitled Ecoscience. In this troubling work, the authors detailed plans to implement eugenics to provide for massive depopulation of the Earth to "restore balance" to the environment. The essentially position they take is that the Earth would be better if we just got rid of most of the people, and they also want to decide who the "undesirables" are. Among their shocking ideas:
Ø Forced abortions are permitted under the Constitution, and should be implemented if the "population crisis" has become "sufficiently severe to endanger society." They then spend much of the rest of the book asserting this has already happened, essentially stating that the US should implement forced abortions now.
Ø The establishment of a "Planetary Regime – sort of an international superagency for population, resources and the environment", establishing a global police force in complete control of all natural resources, their distribution, and population controls (eugenics). The Planetary Regime would implement a quota system for population control, and then enforce the limits it established.
Ø Partial surrender of sovereignty by all nations to the Planetary Regime.
Ø "Undesirables" would have forced sterilization.
Ø Controlled racial expansion, inferring the need to keep blacks, Jews, Arabs, Catholics, Muslims, Christians and others from expanding their population differently than another race or group. Specifically, population controls, quotas and eugenics should be implemented based on race, culture, religious and economic status.
Ø All illegitimate babies should be taken from their mothers and put up for adoption, or the mothers should be forced to marry or have abortions.
Ø Outlines a plan for adding sterilization chemicals to the water supply, presumably without notification, and provides for the broad requirements such a forced mass sterilization agent would need to exhibit.
Ø Implanting sub-dermal sterilization capsules at the onset of puberty, and only being able to remove it with government approval
These proposals recommend multiple practices that were classified as Crimes Against Humanity, as documented in the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, ICC-ASP/1/3II-B Article 7(1)(g)-5, and as adopted by the UN General Assembly on 11-April-2002, having been ratified by over 111 nations.
Op Ed: The frightening reality of Holdren's book is that it provides "solutions" to problems as cold, calculated academic justification for the kinds of the resource controls that caused starvation or forced deportation of 5 million Irish subjects in 1845-1850 by the murderous intent of the English that created the Great Irish Famine, even as Ireland continued to export a huge amount of food supplies, including potatos. The food was there, it was a resource that was controlled on the basis of the very principles espoused by Holdren, to control and reduce an undesirable population of Catholics and Irish. Ecoscience purports to use hard science to suggest monstrous steps of eugenics that are not far removed from the planned genocide that gave the world Auschwitz, Treblinka, Kristallnacht, the Rwandan Tutsi genocide, and the Black War against the Tasmanian Aborigines. What separates Holdren from Himmler are three differentiators:
