Chapter 14

Now

Everything hurt, it felt like I could feel every molecule of my being on fire. I groaned and rolled over, it was dark and smelled of earth, I lay still on my back, letting my senses take in the area. I was in a large room, stone floor, walls and celling, no visible exits and pitch black. I could tell all this from the way the sounds I made reflected back to my ears, a trick I had picked up long ago, I sat up slowly, being as there was no light source even my enhanced vision could see nothing. I clicked my tongue against the roof of my mouth in a sort crude sonar.

I walked to the nearest wall and felt along the stone, I tapped the stone, dirt was beyond it, great I was underground in a stone lined room. I did a quick jump and tapped the celling, from the sound that came back it was more stone.

"Great, hard but not impossible." I say hearing my voice echo.

"Oh I think it will due for now." Her voice echos through the dark it is strangely distant and hollow, I know that voice.

"Elise?" I say.

"Yes Idin, How do you like your new prison?" She asks.

I look around trying to find her, her voice is coming from the celling, I walk toward the source and I feel a breeze, looking up I jump and grab hold on a narrow shaft where air is coming through.

"Don't worry Idin, I am about 100ft up from you, you are located in a chamber beneath" She says.

"Teotihuacán" I interrupt her.

"yes Idin very good, it doesn't matter though, by the time you are able to claw your way out the ritual will be over." She says smuggly.

"Great Elise, so you will be dead by the time I am out of here, saves me the trouble." I say.

"Hardly" she says.

"Oh Elise you forget I was there the last time the gate was open, I was there at the previous attempt to open it also in Babel." I say.

"Yes Idin, I know, and I suspect you have ulterior motives for trying to stop the opening of the gate." She says.

"You mean besides stopping the end of the world? Damn Elise you are as Dumb and Power hungry as Cain and Nimrod." I say.

"Do not compare me to those men." She says anger in her voice.

"Why not? Cain wanted power, Nimrod wanted to lead an attack on the heavens, what is your motive?" I say.

"Simply to free Lilith and lead a new era into existence." She says.

"Is that all? Well fine Ill just sit here and let Lilith kick your ass." I say.

"Im through with your lies Idin, you know all our secrets, you have held us back for to long, the time of us letting you dictate anything to us is over." She says.

"Sure good luck with that." I say

I start walking toward one of the walls examining it with my hands, 100ft below ground incased in dirt and stone. Hard but not impossible, I sat down and crossed my legs, I didn't know if this would work but I had to try.

Now.

Elsewhere.

"You stupid senile crazy bastard, WHAT the hell have you done with Idin." Lillian said holding up Murray by his collar.

"Parasite put me down now." Murray said power seeping into his voice.

"Lillian calm down." Sharon said trying to put herself between the two.

"Not till this so called mage brings Idin back." Lillian yelled into Murray face.

"shhhhh." Jennifer said.

"Put me down before you get hurt little girl." Murray said.

"Im going to put you through this wall." Lillian said.

"Be quite." Jennifer said trying to listen to something.

"Dammit it you two calm down we need to find Dad." Sharon said stepping between the two trying to get Murray out of Lillian's hands.

"Hes fine." Jennifer said tilting her head.

"What?" Lillian said.

"Huh?" Sharon said.

"The hell?" Murray said tilting his head at Jennifer.

"He is fine, Elise has him she intercepted Murray teleportation spell and routed Idin to a secure location, he is fine, he is just going to miss everything unless Murray can get him some things." Jennifer said.

Lillian put Murray down and all three of them stared at Jennifer in wonder.

"Merlin, Idin says that she most likely has guarded the chamber against teleportation out, but he has a plan and we all have to hurry." Jennifer said looking at Murray.

"Whats detcord and HMX?" Jennifer said half to herself.

Two days later.

Teotihuacán

It had taken Elise two days to gather all the materials in the pyramid of the sun, her people had spread about the area to secure it against attack, she had 50 of her most trusted people guarding the temple. She was in one of the forgotten chambers above Idin's prison, she wanted him to hear everything as she brought back Lilith, Only two of her sorceress had returned from San Diego with the artifacts she needed.

She watched them set about the room the artifacts needed to open the gate, she walked over to the small tunnel that led down to Idin.

"Idin, you awake? We are about to bring Lilith back." She said down into the whole.

"Oh good, I am just about ready." The smug response came back.

She laughed.

"I am sure you are." She said.

She heard something like a whisper from the hole, even with her hearing she couldn't make it out.

"What was that Idin?" She said stepping nearer to the hole.

"Boom." He said louder.

She heard the explosion from the hole, she felt the concussive force travel through the small hole, she dived out of the way as flames shot out of the small tunnel, rubble and burnt chunks of something splattered everywhere, the three people in the chamber were a little singed and startled but other wise alright.

Elise got from her knees shaking her head, she was covered in charred chunks of something, she noticed a burnt skull on the floor and started laughing hysterically.

One of the Sorceresses got up and looked over to her, she watched as a Elise grabbed the skull laughing.

"My lady what happened?" She asked.

"He killed himself trying to escape!" Elise said holding up the skull.

"But he was immortal?" The sorceress said.

"Yes well we only had his word that we couldn't kill him, If I had known all it took was explosives I would of done it along time ago." Elise said tossing the skull into the corner.

"Lets start the ritual." She said in an optimistic mood.

One of her scouts came running into the chamber.

"My lady we are being attacked, our guards have encountered wild animals in some numbers attacking them." She said out of breath.

"Hold them off we don't need much time." She said, noticing it was approaching the devils hour.

Elsewhere.

"You sure you guys don't need a parachute?" Jennifer said standing next to Murray.

"Nope we will be fine." Lillian said standing next to 20 of her people, all were in the process of checking their weapons, all loaded with incendiary rounds.

"Murray you sure you can do this?" Sharon said putting on her parachute.

He nodded grimly.

"I need to wait until they start the magic to get a lock on them, but I will do my part." He said.

Jennifer went to the radio setup in the plane, she would be monitoring the battle, if all went badly she would tell the pilot to drop the bomb they carried, it would be enough to destroy the pyramid, she had no idea where Idin got all this equipment, Lillian had told her when your as old as them it was easy to accumulate a lot of junk.

Jennifer watched as the rear doors to the plane opened, Lillian and her people jumped out of the plane with no prompting, Sharon and her eyes met and they nodded to each other, both concerned about the out come of the battle already in progress, hopefully the weres were doing their job, Sharon gave her one last look before stepping out of the plane.

Sharon had gone parachuting with her dad on several occasions, even a few night jumps, she had never done anything like she was currently doing, her P90 was loaded with incendiary rounds and strapped to her chest as she fell, she could see flashes of light below her where the battle was already taking place.

Sharon's job was to get to the temple once everyone was distracted with the battle below, she hoped Lillian and her crew could distract as many people so she could get to where the ritual was taking place, she was a sort of safety if Murray could not locate them in time.

Sharon pulled her parachute and aimed it for the temple, her only hope of not being spotted was that anyone there would be distracted by all the gun fire below, she angled the parachute to the rear of the pyramid.

Lillian hit the ground grimacing, she rolled with the impact, once she stopped she crouched taking out her rifle, she spotted several of her people doing the same thing they all nodded they were okay. She could hear the roar of animals in the distance, she hoped the vials of urine they had sprayed on them worked, the last thing she needed was to get mauled by a panther.

She signaled for her people to spread out and move forward, they were at the outskirts of the ancient city, their job was to distract Elise's people away from the temple, as she moved forward rifle ready she smelled death, she found a shack filled with dead tourist.

"Way to keep a low profile mom." She said to herself.

She moved forward, her mom was acting like the Sons at this point, she knew deep down that she could not let her mom live after this, she felt some remorse but buried it, they had to stop her and that was that, she spotted a pair of guards moving toward her position, since they were not here to be stealthy she simple pointed her rifle and fired. She watched amazed as the bullets took them in the chest, they seemed to burst into flames and flail around.

"Well, that should get someones attention." She said.

Sure enough she heard others in her group opening fire, very quickly they found them selves in an intense fire fight, she was taking cover and returning fire, she could see several more groups coming from the base of the main pyramid.

Above in the plane.

"Jennifer." Murray said.

Jennifer looked up from the radio.

"Yes?" She said.

"Whatever happens down there, I want you to know Idin really loves you, I know you haven't known him long but he does." Murray said grabbing the sword.

Jennifer frowned.

"I know Murray, its going to be okay, you'll see." Jennifer said.

Murray nodded slowly.

"They are starting, I need to go now." He said.

She nodded.

"Good luck." Jennifer said.

Elsewhere.

Elise was watching as they started the ritual when another scout came rushing in, she nodded to her and she walked over to her.

"My lady we have now encountered a force of about 15 people with assault rifles moving on the outskirts of the town, they seem to be working with the weres." She said.

Elise nodded.

"Take care of them, we will be done soon and nothing can stop us." She said.

The scout nodded and fled the temple.

Elise nodded to the other sorceress drawing a knife from her belt she watched as the other two copied her movement, she sliced her wrist and held it over the large engraved stone bowl in the center of the room, the other two did the same. She watched in wonder as the blood began to swirl in the bowl, it would be to late soon enough.

There was a blinding flash in the room, all three looked up as an old man with a cane and sword stood off to the corner, the guards at the entrance turned and lunged at the old man, he tossed his sword into the corner and swung his staff at the two guards, He hit one sending her flying against the wall electricity seemed to lance over her body, the other guard slowed as she approached.
