Chapter 6

The ship rocked with the deceleration as FTL drives spun down, I had spent my time on the ship with Luna, learning about the politics of the JSTF. I had also taken on a human males appearance, from what Elora had told me I had the appearance of a model human, Luna had assured me I looked like what her people expected from humans.

From what Luna had explained there had been two groups of humans that had started the JSTF, one group from earth who maintained the human looks, the other was actually a lost colony from another dimension that had incorporated the enemies technology and adaptations for their benefit; together they had mounted a successful resistance of the enemy, growing and incorporating worlds as they went. Each world was independent of the other, but each contributed to the whole.

There was trade and commerce between worlds, technology was shared amount all, the only thing one had to do was contribute to the joint efforts against the enemy. On worlds where technology was behind the JSTF brought them access to theirs, in turn they allowed them to mine for materials on one of many known planets rich with resources in their galaxy. Others chose to allow their people to join the fleet, and yet some like Luna's people where advanced enough that they could patrol whole areas on their own with minimal help.

"It is amazing what they have accomplished, its no wonder A.I.'s and Golems helped start it all." Elora said.

"what?" I asked.

"You haven't read the histories yet?" Luna asked.

"No I have been focusing on modern politics and technology." I said.

"Well you are lucky you are a Golem, they are held in high regard, as are A.I." Luna said

"Why is that?" I asked.

"Because the first to fight the enemy had been a Golem and A.I. together they helped start everything." Elora said.

"In fact it is said Janus still governs from her home dimension the overall course of the JSTF." Luna said.

"That makes perfect sense with how generally peaceful relations have been between dimensions." Elora said smugly.

I raised an eyebrow at that.

"Well if you read the history Elora you will see that an A.I. also was helping the enemy in the first place." Luna said.

I laughed at that.

"See Elora, we synthetics have our faults." I said.

"It was probably malfunctioning." Elora said.

The console beeped.

"It is time for you to see my world." Luna said with a large grin.

The view screen came up and I winced, all that was out there was a debris field of Sol sector.

"Oh sorry I forgot, we will open a wormhole and be to my home in a minute." Luna said apologetic.

Her hands flew over the console and I marveled at her precision and speed, I doubted I could match the task, her species really was unique.

"Worm hole in 5. 4. 3. 2. 1." Luna said.

On the screen I saw it form, it was smaller than the one I had created, the coloring was slightly off.

"See NX, she has already compensated for the gravitational sheer." Elora said.

I nodded to myself watching Luna work the controls as we entered the wormhole, the ride was fairly smooth and took under a minute before we exited, with earth on the view screen, it looked just like the pictures of the earth of my origins.

"Wow." I said.

"Ditto." Elora said.

I saw Luna smile, she flipped on her comm and clicked, whistled and hooted into it, the response came almost instantly in more clicks and whistles.

"We are being routed to the base on Sarune, oh I mean the moon as you would call it." Luna said working the controls.

I watched our flight on the sensors, we had joined a traffic lane of some kind, as several ships all followed the same course. Luna pointed to one ship, it looked like a human design.

"Oh look human traders, that means we will have fresh foods from earth, I enjoy this delectable dish called Pizza." Luna said excitedly clapping her hands.

I nodded having heard of it but never tasting it.

"Oh can you eat?" Luna asked looking at me.

"I believe it is part of my design, if ever I needed to blend in." I said nodding.

"Good than I shall take you to my favorite places to eat, how odd that I am the one to introduce you to human food" Luna said excitedly.

Everything Luna did was with optimism and exuberance, it made me wonder if her whole species was like this or perhaps she was the exception no the rule. I watched as we passed ships, it seemed like we had priority on the lanes as we passed several.

"Elora see that one, the weird symmetrical ship?" Luna said.

"Yes?" Elora said.

"That is from a dimension populated entirely of A.I.s, umm they sort of out lived their creators, a plague of some kind, anyway they have eagerly joined the JSTF, they help with infrastructure, they are quite happy to be working with organics again, they call themselves the helpers." Luna said nodding

"Thats intriguing." Elora said.

Luna nodded.

"I have never seen it but their world is supposed to be a very cold and unwelcoming place, data centers that span the continents of their planet, I heard that Janet and Janus themselves went to their home world to welcome them into the alliance. I was told that there is a backlog and waiting list of helpers eager to serve again" Luna said
