AP- Jun 22--RCMP officials today announced the discovery of the body of a male, as yet unidentified, in a wooded area of Willmore Wilderness Area. As yet, no connection has been made between this discovery and the ongoing search for a missing teenager from Calgary. RCMP officials discovered the body after locating a campsite about five miles into the wilderness area. Numerous personal effects were found scattered around the site, suggesting a struggle had possibly taken place there. Police officials, after monitoring the location for two days, began an organized search of the surroundings. The body was found early this morning, approximately one mile from the camp site.
AP- Jun 24--RCMP officials today announced the discovery of a campsite that apparently belonged to missing teenager Emma Falsey. Ms Falsey was reported missing by her family after failing to return from a short camping trip. The campsite appears to have been destroyed by high winds or a heavy rain as many small personal belongings, reportedly belonging to Ms. Falsey were found scattered in a waterway downstream from her campsite. Officials had announced yesterday that her car had been located and came across the beaten down campsite after following a meager trail in from the carpark.
AP- Jun 25--In the continuing investigation of missing persons, RCMP officials announced discovery of the personal effects of a missing teen at the campsite of a young man whose body was found about a mile from it. Officials had no comment as to why the girl's belongings would have been at the young man's campsite. There is no record of them knowing each other, and their age differences and location of their residences suggest that they did not. The young man, it was announced today, had been shot in the head, execution style. There are no signs of the missing girl. RCMP and the girl's family are organizing a search for this weekend and have asked volunteers interested to meet at the RCMP station in Hinton, or telephone in advance to register.
AP- Jun 26--A seventeen year old teenager from Calgary was found today by searchers as they combed the woods of Willmore Wilderness looking for clues to her whereabouts. The young woman was found walking aimlessly along a stream calling out a man's name as she walked. An air support ship from the RCMP was immediately dispatched to the area to carry the young woman to safety to a hospital in Calgary. No further information was released at this time.
AP- Jun 29--RCMP officials in Hinton announced the capture and arrest of a fifty two year old man, as yet unidentified, on suspicion of kidnapping, rape, and murder in the continuing investigation of the disappearance of two young people that had been camping in the area. The body of Clarke Hauser, twenty-three, from NW Edmonton was found last week as they searched for a missing teenage girl from Calgary. The girl was discovered three days prior, walking through the wilderness calling out the name of Mr. Hauser. RCMP official, after questioning the young woman, began a manhunt for her kidnapper. Police received a break in the search when a RCMP air support ship observed wisps of smoke coming from an area north of where the girl was discovered. Police and volunteers coordinated their efforts, surrounding the area prior to the police raid. RCMP officials recovered a large caliber handgun that may have been used in the execution style killing of Mr. Hauser.
Police have not identified the suspect by name, but unofficial sources close to the investigation say that the suspect has been living in the wilderness area for years and may actually be a homeless mountain man, living off the land and his unfortunate victims. Police are reviewing missing persons reports for the area.
