Chapter 13

Jacob

I used the new armor to fly down the tunnel, I traveled about 30 km, flying thru the tunnel was probably one of the most thrilling experiences of my life. I was enthralled that I failed to notice around the next bend downward, that the tunnel had filled with water, I threw my hands up to protect me from the impact. To my startled surprise I kept moving through the water, I looked around, I was flowing thru the water as easily as I had air, I noticed the armor seemed to project a field that made the water flow around it.

I traveled for what seemed like hours before the tunnel opened up into the ocean floor, what I saw was a wasteland underwater, it looked like a ship yard, I could make out the rusted out hulls of space ships. The wreckage from what I assumed was the war, I let my armor take me near the ships. I found a massive battleship that was split down the middle, I floated toward it, the design was familiar yet alien to me.

As I got near the ship I got massive radiation warnings from my armor, I shuddered at the loss of life, I continued on following the markers on my H.U.D, when I reached the next marker on my H.U.D. I pulled up heading for the surface. I broke through continuing up, the new communication suite in my armor came to life, I accessed it, looking for the same link Adam had use to contact Janus, I found it activating it.

"Janus do you read me?" I waited.

"Jacob?" she answered back.

"Yes Janus have you begun the weapon drops?" I asked.

"Yes jacob, I am launching them from high orbit, I am sending every hand held weapon on the ship, as well as land vehicles. The Dauntless was equipped to secure a beachhead on a planet if it was called for, I am using the drop pods and sub orbital delivery system to get as much on the surface as I can. I have also taken out a good bit of the active mines in orbit." She said.

"Good job Janus, I will head for the nearest pod to me and begin organizing a resistance as best I can." I said.

"Jacob, I sent the other me down for the same purpose ... I ... I want you to treat her as you would me, you need to take care of each other" Janus said, I could hear something in her voice.

"Janus, we are all going to make it through this, we can handle this" I said.

"Jacob, I have looked over all the files Adam sent, the enemy is reaching the point where they can activate the wormhole, I don't know why they haven't, if they do Jacob, I am going to have to do everything I can to stop it, we have to hurry Jacob." She said.

"Janus, we will get moving quickly, we can assault the enemy on two fronts, are you in touch with the other you?" I asked.

"No Jacob, it seems that there is low level interference preventing communication, if Adam had not given you that armor we would not be talking right now." She said.

"Okay so the first order of business is for me to find your sister, I want you to continue to monitor the enemy, let me know if they so much as flinch." I said.
