Chapter 4
"You don't think Consuela saw me, do you?"
"No, I was watching for that, even if Steetch was totaly absorbed in the freakyness of
it all. Of all the freaky things you have done, this just takes the cake. So I need you to
tell me, what are you feeling when you do that? It contravines all of the laws of Physics
you know. How does it seem to you?"
"Yesterday morning, as I was swimming I entered my excercise induced meditative
state, and I felt connected to the water. The water seemed willing to accomidate me,
as if it would do as I asked, or as I expected. This morning, when I had it support me,
I just expected it to work, because it had facilitated my swimming, and didn't even get
me wet. I just tried harder, I mean, I wanted it enough so the water tried harder to do
what I expected, and I was confident that it would, so I expected it to work."
"Does it extend to any other medium?"
"I haven't tried anything else, I wanted to get your input and insight."
"What other matter do you feel might want to be helpful to you? Can you maintain that
meditative state?"
"Yes, I find I can enter that state of mind just by wanting it, sort of remembering it. I am
entering that state now, and am opening my awareness to my surroundings, to see if
anything seems willing to be accommidating ... I think the air seems willing to do what
I require of it ... what do I require of it?"
"Try for some fog, Freaky, just some early morning ground mist, that shouldn't be too
noticable, right, Hardcase?"
"Yeah, good suggestion, Steetch. See if the air will make a nice rising ground fog."
"Ok, here goes nothing."
"Wow, that was fast! It looks so natural too! Now try to dry all the dew from the lawn."
"Huh, it is a sunny California day after all. Neat, Ok, now that we are in the woods, make
a little cloud just over our heads."
"Oh, hey, we didn't order any hail! Cut it out! Oh awesome, snow! That is amazing! Here, I am
going to try to do something. Just a meditative state, open to anything awareness of the
surroundings, to see if something is accomidating, right? Ok, I am there, and the plants and
trees seem agreeable. I can sense that I don't want to ask too much, or it could harm
